Am I the only one, or should the next location for the next Fallout game be Texas? Aside from that one installment that I will not mention, there's never really been a Fallout set in Texas, aside from references to it. That, and seeing my home state in Fallout would be pretty dope.

Well it would be pretty neat to play in the "Texas Commonwealth" but I believe that it is about time to expand to the rest of the world like an European country like Germany, France, Uk, Portugal ... etc.

I say lets go to Portland Oregon.

Maybe a Fallout Four States Commonwealth in New Mexico were Caesar’s legion has broken into many lesser legions fighting over the dead remains of Ceasar's empire.

My first and foremost choice would be Seattle, Washington - but Fallout Cascadia seems to have that one covered. It'd be neat to have another area on the fringes of NCR territory, and so close to the Canadian border. I also generally prefer west-coast lore, but I've got a feeling that if BGS were to make a game set here, then they'd butcher some of the lore.
Other than that, I've recently been thinking about how it'd be pretty cool to have a setting in Ottawa or Toronto, with the main 'bad guy' being a neo-Napoleonic empire that stemmed out of Quebec, kind of similar to Caesar's Legion. It's also got some decent way for lore in the way of the US occupation of Canada, and it'd be the first Fallout game set outside of the US, but not too far outside that it would feel completely different.

While I agree that it would be interesting to see a game set in Texas, I feel that it would quickly turn in to New Vegas 2. That and I don't see BGS making a Fallout away from the east coast of the US. Now that Microsoft is intending to purchase them, and being that they already own Obsidian, I could definitely see BGS be more open to other MS stuidos making the next Fallout game and picking somewhere else.

I disagree. The game's identity is tied to the United States. No mainline game should ever take place elsewhere. Though, I think a spinoff game could take place somewhere else, maybe. I still think it would be way out of character, but it wouldn't be mainline, so that's okay.

Texas would be cool, personally speaking as I lived there for quite a bit and will be moving back soon. I kind of want something different than a desert-y theme that Texas would provide, though. I think a place in the Pacific Northwest, Florida, or even a place outside of the United States (although one can argue one of the series' big themes is focused around Pro-America stuff)

Thats exactly what i was thinking, it would be really interesting to see more of the legion due to them not really being fully fleshed out in new Vegas, I'm really hoping the recent Microsoft buyout might lead to some more interaction between Obsidian and Bethesda and in turn hopefully leading to some more Fallout games in the west-coast.

We all here need to look very carefully at the previous games lore. More often than not, future installments are predicted by their predecessors.

But that got me thinking... Fallout 4... You're a lone wanderer. No family, no friends... Where could the story possibly go to? Any leads? Any references outside the game world? We've seen California, specifically San Francisco mentioned in-game in Fo4. There's been a lot of talk among fans of New Orleans. Chicago has kinda already, technically been done with Tactics... But it's canonciality has been debated for decades now.

My bet is on either Chicago or New Orleans. I'd love to see Chicag. The lore there is great, we have the enclave, and it's still "close" enough that a lot of the critters would still look familiar.

If we were in N.O., we could see the radtoads and gatorclaws fully realized! and a slew of other just terrifying critters. I'd love either location.

San Fran seems like a possibility considering all the references. Plus I seem to remember reading somewhere that apparently Obsidian wanted to mention in FNV that San Fran had been largely destroyed in a Nuclear explosion sometime after Fallout 2, either during the NCR-Enclave or NCR-Brotherhood War which was something that had been planned for Van Buren, but Bethesda told them they wanted San Fran left alone for a possible future instalment, which is honestly a better call.

That said, I kinda hope Bethesda stay on the East Coast, and (hopefully) Obsidian take the reign on Fallout on the West coast. It would be really cool if they just used both sides of America to tell a different story, one about the post-war hellscape, and one about the post-post war.

What about adding another MS owned studio to change it up a bit? InXile is also owned by MS and the founders created Wasteland which was a big influence on Fallout. Itcould be cool to have another studio put their own spin on a spin-off.

They could have Obsidian do the west coast, Bethesda do the east coast and other stuios fill out the rest of the country.

Kinda depends on who is making it tbh. If Obsidian is going to make it, I would love to see a San Francisco or a Texas Fallout from them.

If Bethesda makes it, I would love to see a Fallout game set in either New York or Chicago and maybe let them expand more on the lore of "Ronto".

A DLC or a Fallout spin-off from Brian Fargo would also not be bad if he is interested. I doubt he would do it seeing as he has moved on from Fallout and already has Wasteland but it would be interesting to see what kind of Fallout game he would come up with.

How I want a Fallout set in the USSR. A true nuclear winter experience, where you can go out and explore the world with a good winter survival mechanic, not just limited to the underground like the Metro franchise.

First off I'm rather new to GUN posting so forgive me if I misuse or format this.


I would personally like to see a Fallout game from another point of view, this could range from Canada, which in Fallout lore is a part of the US, or China. Obviously this would be extremely ambitious and would remove a lot of the things that makes Fallout Fallout. American patriotism, Red Scare, etc. however i still believe it would honestly be very interesting to see!

Bethesda Softworks and Zenimax Media can neither confirm nor deny that a new Fallout installation is in development at this time.

Maybe Chicago and the surrounding area. They can have something related or even a small cameo of Mid-Western Brotherhood and for sure Enclave there, too.
