I’m a bit of a dummy when it comes to installing mods but I know most of the basic, but how does the load order actually work I know that some mods must be placed in a certain order to work but how do I know in what order. I tried installing loot but it messed up everything because I have a lot of mods that need to overwrite each other to work properly. I use nexus mod manager btw but I have heard that mod organizer is a lot better but I tried it and didn’t know what the fuck i was doing.

I would really appreciate some help

Edit: I think I figured  out how it works for example if I have two mods that overwrite each other and let’s say I have mod A and B
So if I place B under A then A will overwrite B

I use Loot, and I haven't had any serious problems. I think there was ONE occasion I had to manually move something around to make it work properly.

The lowest mod in your load order has the highest priority and so on. So if you want to have A, B and C in order, place them like this:

C 1
B 2
A 3

the rule of latest have the highest priority is right
if you have jip installed you also have a second Load Order . which basically only manage bsa. normally a plugin which also have a bsa and have the lowest position overwrite any previous bsa. by adding a override file it will force to overwrite everthing dosent matter where you put the plugin
