| Sorry to put yet another post in this section, but I recently reinstalled NV and some mods. I've used every one of these mods before so I know they work. The issue is that when I hit "New Game", a message pops up saying that if I do it will save over the last autosave. If I say yes, it acts like I said no then kicks me back to the main menu. If I say no, it does the same thing. I have no idea what is causing this as the only mod I'm using that affects the main menu is one that changes the music. I tried verifying the game's cache, but it didn't do anything. I then deactivated all the mods aside from the DLCs and tried again. Still didn't work. So this seems to be related to the base-game. Here is my load order: - Spoiler:

| Well this is a new one, never heard of this happening before. The only two mods I know of that potentially mess with starting a new game are one of the TTW optionals for starting in the Mojave, and Project Brazil.
Have you tried deleting or moving the auto save it wants you to overwrite? that should bypass the problem at least. If you use Steam Cloud Saves you'll need to disable that for FNV before getting rid of the auto saves, else it'll keep re downloading them. |

| @hitman47101 I have neither TTW or PB installed. The first thing I did when I reinstalled the game was to manually delete all the save files from my last playthrough as I do every time I boot up a Bethesda title. |

| And you're sure Steam isn't restoring the deleted saves from the cloud? happens to me pretty much every time I reinstall a Beth game.
Anyway other then that the only other thing I can think of and its kind of a long shot but open your ini files and find the line "SCharGenQuest=" and make sure its "00102037"
That line controls what quest starts when you start a new game and it should always be 00102037, the ID of the start up quest.
Might be worth opening up your load order in FNVEdit as well, make sure nothing is messing with the quest VCG00.
Hope you find a fix. |

| @hitman47101 I manually delete the saves in-game. I hit "Load" then delete each save file. Nothing for Steam to reinstall. I'll try the command next. I was wondering if I could command my way to it, but I didn't know if it was even possible. Didn't think it was possible to do it in the main menu. I'll give it a shot now. >Might be worth opening up your load order in FNVEdit as well, make sure nothing is messing with the quest VCG00. The thing is that I don't think it's necessarily the quest as it doesn't even attempt to load it. I don't crash or freeze. It just acts like I hit no. Update: Turns out it was that ini thing. Entirely my fault. My last playthrough was TTW and I guess I forgot to delete the ini so it tried to load the TTW FO3 start. Thanks a lot for that, hit. It was driving me crazy. I was worried I would have to reinstall the game and all the mods again(though I may have to do the mods again due to the verifying cache). |

| Ah yeah, the installer/FOMOD for TTW changes the start up quest ID in the ini automatically, glad you got it sorted. A last resort would of been using the console to force the start up sequence directly from the main menu with "StartQuest 102037", it works but I have no idea if there's any hidden consequences from starting that way, wasn't gonna suggest it unless all else had failed. You should be good to keep your current mod set up, verifying the cache only restores missing or altered files which in most cases only means the inis, although clearly not all of them since it didn't help with the left overs from TTW.
