According to https://www.oneangrygamer.net/2018/07/fallout-76-features-a-new-perk-card-system/63256/ It seems there will be lootbox/booster packs style micro-transactions to replace the SPECIAL and perk system.
According to https://www.pcgamer.com/bethesda-says-fallout-76-is-not-just-a-full-on-pvp-game/ You can challenge players to a duel mode, but PVP is completely optional and you can't loot items off players corpses. So what's the point of it being an online survival game without PVP?
Before you claim that mods and private servers will fix it, there's various conflicting sources claiming the game will not be moddable and you can't host your own server; so probably not.
So no, unless I'm able to make a classic Fallout themed private PVP server with a west-coast desert map and the original SPECIAL system; I'm not excited in the least.

No, unless someone cracks it so that I can play the game offline, I am not getting. Even then, it looks like it will have super mutants, enclave armor, jet and all this other crap that shows people making the game have no clue about the lore. Also, dragons/mutant bats, this shit is cringy

If I was into multiplayer games I'd be willing to give it a fair shot, I hear Elder Scrolls Online is good these days. What Fallout is now is not what Fallout once was but hey, its still pretty good. Clinging on to an idea that all Fallout related things should be like New Vegas will just lead to disillusion about something you once really enjoyed, and that sucks.
To answer the question though even if I won't be playing it I am very excited for Fallout 76's release, I'd quite like that MG-42 looking thing in F4. If you can't be excited for the game itself, try to look forward the 40/60 quid, multi-gigabyte Fallout-y asset dump for modders at least.
Cheers

I'm excited even if it isn't a traditional Fallout release with lots of NPCs and whatnot, it still looks fun. Besides, I'm a fan of multiplayer games where I can grab a few friends to just kick back and have fun with.
Also the assets, so many good assets.

I'm cautiously optimistic. There's a lot of potential for a Fallout based MMO, and many of us have dreamt of a Bethesda coop game from the start. I'm just afraid they'll take the "make your own world" concept to where it's incumbent on players to make the game work with bare-bones content and systems. They haven't really explained any of the mechanics, just the anti- griefing measures.
Some of the stuff Tod Howard said really reminded me of Sea of Thieves, and how the devs said its up to players to make their own fun. Turns out that's impossible when the game gives you nothing to work with. I'm afraid this is just going to be Coop Fallout 4 without NPC's. Just build, shoot, and share resources. Still excited to see what happens, though.

There are things in the trailers that put me on edge., lorewise. The lush greenery bothers me, as do snippets of the Enclave armor and even a crashed vertbird.
Outside of that, the gameplay news bother me as well. Way too much handholding in the game, aimed at making it a safe and inclusive experience, most of it focused in PvP aspects.
I hope that when creating a game there will be options for players on how the PvP is handled, because otherwise the game will lose a lot of potential players.
And I hope that the game's lore is not contradicting of the previous games.

Yeah. I would adore a more traditional experience with coop, and the map seems gorgeous. Unfortunately we're getting a nice map with barely anything to do, and a bunch of lootboxes and micro transactions. The only way i'd play is if there were dedicated rp servers, or if it was free (it should be if they're going the micro transaction route)

I'm still kind of on the fence. Honestly, I'm more excited for what fans are doing, like with Miami and the New Vegas remake.
It is very telling that the modding community seems to be making better content these days than bethesda themselves
Honestly, they should bite the bullet and hire some of the talent to create a new west coast game, or a game set in a region we haven't seen before. People always joke that "Mods will fix *Insert buggy, shitty bethesda game here*, might as well skip that step and let the fans get a go at it themselves, if they're that talented

After watching this interview it has certain made me more optimistic for Fallout 76. It seems that Bethesda is dedicated to making it possible to play Fallout 76 by yourself with some of the perks cards you can take making a solo playhthrough more viable.
I know a lot of people think the game will be terrible but I'm gonna reserve my judgement until the game is released.

I'm excited, only to play with friends. Not much interest in soloing this, always wanted to try out Fallout with frens
Altho might only get it on console, since it won't be on steam for pc(iirc?)

@"EyeShotFirst" Honestly. I think Bethesda should just let the fans make their fallout games at this point because I feel much more excited for both of those 2 than I feel for 76 and considering the bugs Bethesda is known for I don't feel like this is gonna be a good launch for 76 though I really hope it succeeds because it really sounds cool having a friend with you for once that isn't a companion and killing new monsters and exploring a new land albeit same graphics but I don't mind since I personally still love the fo4 graphics. 76 is just that kind of game you wait for and watch others play it a bit and wait for some reviews and possibly rants then you decide. This could either be a big success or a big failure due to trying something new and with how Bethesda has been with their creation club stuff and whatnot I feel like 76 is going to flop with some inaccessible content and limited locked things I don't know what but you know it'll happen, we all won't get everything from this game.

yeah it should be good , after seeing the anti griefing measures they came up with....bank is taken off of the grief'r and not just generated by the game plus all the other things they mentioned...cant wait to try
