Through our journeys in the Fallout series, we witness people who have passed away through very terrible circumstances. We have witnessed people still alive but not wanting to be alive because of the situation they're currently in. What I want to ask you all is what are some of the worst things you personally think can happen to you in the wastes?

HERE ARE A FEW FROM ME:

1. BEING ENSLAVED: We have seen how horrible slavery can be through history and other means. Fallout has taken into account that slavery is a profession that seems to pay very well for a slaver. We have also seen that Slavery can be what breaks you as a human being if you're on the receiving end. It is 10x worse if you're a female.

2.ENDURING ONE OF VAULT-TEC'S EXPERIMENTS: Vault-Tec is a sadistic corporation filled with a bunch of psychopathic pricks who want to see people suffer for "the good of the future". You're extremely lucky if you're sent to a vault that is normal and is not a rat lab for you to be messed with. We have witnessed the aftermaths and the current affairs of vault experiments--and almost every one of those experiments ended in disaster.

3. BEING CAPTURED BY SUPERMUTANTS: I am specifically talking East Coast supermutants, as they're the offspring of a different form of FEV. Fallout 3 and 4 shows that East Coast supermutants are barbaric monsters. The main reason being that they are dumb as rocks and don't have any intelligent mutant brothers/sisters to guide them like their West Coast cousins. Because of this, they go out looking for humans to eat or take to their lairs to turn them into supermutants(Fallout 3). Being captured by these creatures is something straight out of a nightmare.

Personally, the Master's experiments are the worst in my eyes

Yep, probably those are the worst things that can happen. I'll add being ripped apart by a Deathclaw. Or being blood-sucked by one of those giant mosquitos and die by your own blood. Or die suffering by the toxic acid of a Mirelurk Queen.

Isn't the wasteland a great place to live?

Probably being stuck in a big empty wasteland while being hungry, thirsty and heavily irradiated. There is nothing worse that a slow and painful death with no one to witness it. You will just fade away just like the millions of people dying in the wasteland.

Ghoulification. Imagine how agonising it is to have your skin peel off while under the effects of radiation poisoning. Gross.

Not only that, but every dick in the wasteland would  be trying to blow your head off for the next couple hundred years until you go feral

Surviving The Great War, and then having to live in what was left.

Just imagine, your life is more or less a 50s utopia, and then in the space of less than an hour it becomes the wasteland. I can't really think of a worse thing than that. Much better to just have died when the bombs fell.

Crucified by the Legion?

Crucifixion is one of the worst methods of execution ever devised. Nailed to a cross and hung up to burn in the sun. Dehydrated and starving as you slowly die from the mix, combined with exposure. And to make matters worse, it's hard to breathe because of the way you're hung, but breathing is a natural human reaction, you can't not breathe. Each time, you have to pull yourself up to take a breath, the nails in your hands are the only support you have, meaning each time you breathe, you pull on the nails in your arms in order to support yourself. Grizzly fate that. It could take more than a day to die from crucifixion.

That's the worst fate I can think of that hasn't been mentioned yet.

What about that guy the Legion left to "live" after having removed his legs below the knees? That one's almost as bad.

@IRORIEH That’s a fate that is quite sadistic in general. That’s the reason why you lose karma when you crucify Benny. Instead of giving him a quick death or letting him go, you make him go through that. That also explains the message given to you whenever you interact with a victim of crucifixion. That person must have been on that thing for how long and at this point it could actually be keeping the person alive. Really twisted shit.

i would say being kidnapped by the white glove society and being cannibalized by those freaks in those mask they hold themselves as high status but are no more than just barbaric animals waiting for there next victim either that or being a female prostitute in Gomorrah lets hope you don't come into contact with a certain individual or being caught by cook cook

i'd have to say being put in Craig Boone's position; watch your wife get sold off to slavers that'll use and abuse her, or kill your wife yourself from a sniper's perch?
either option is pretty awful

...or really, anything to do with loved ones being in danger that you can't stop, it's a common shitty thing but in the wastes? there are a LOT worse outcomes there

I'd say the worst would be to get turned into a centaur.

Be covered with tar then pushed down the Colorado while burning alive. Then survive the ordeal and have to live with the burns.

You have to feel the pain every single day especially while changing the bandages.

Uh ... snoring and luring a bunch of deathclaws during my sleep because of the noise. Even singular little things in everyday life ... could cost life...theorically

Rape, Kidnapping, And Murder? Possibly not in that order? Honestly, that much hasn't changed, and not like anyone would help you, with the anarchy and all

Slaver's Guild in F2 has a particularly interesting ending, if you don't stop them: Not only do they kidnap people and put them in the pens(Mostly tribals, but really anyone), but they also set up special "Breeding Pens" for a long term investment, if you know what I mean. Can't imagine a worse fate, if you're a woman

It does seem interesting to me how when the whole world goes to... (insert appropriate profanity here), it's automatically assumed that men will become despotic domineering monsters and go back to how things were in the Dark Ages/Feudal Era of Europe, with men being on top and the women being just property, or worse.

Maybe if there's a nuclear apocalypse... Women will end up becoming the ruling class and make men their slaves and... breeding options...

Just a thought.

Now it seem that women are clearly beginning to be equal to men...and the evolution is not finished... I suppose it there is a war and there are less men because KIA, everything is possible in an apocalypse...
