Could the Pitt dlc have been done without making the player go in as a slave? I kind of wish I'd been able to explore it was just one more town, albeit one very different from the other places we were used to.

Could Zion Canyon have been done without auto-exploding the members of the Happy Trails Caravan and forcibly stranding the player?

For the Pitt, I don't think you can.

Zion, no, that's supposed to begin the quest since that's the only way to go to Zion. If there was going to be another way, I think another Caravan party would have ventured into Zion since it was mentioned many times the Crimson Caravan were going to New Canaan.

Hmm, you misunderstood. I meant, what if the writers had written it differently? Would it have worked as well or better if the beginnings to these two dlc had been a little different?

From what I recall, there is only one entrance to Pittsburgh and the only way they will let you in is either you are one of them or a slave.

And based on the dialogue, you cannot fool the guards there into believing you are one of them(which makes me assume that the population of the Pitt is not that big and they know everyone) so I think entering the Pitt as a slave is the only way to do it.


There are a lot of ways to do Honest Hearts. It could have been a Legion quest where you are sent to the observe the White Legs progress on crushing the the inhabitants of Zion Valley.

You could get a quest from a dying member of the Mormons. The possibilities are endless.
