so alot of people have been complaining about it but heres the base truth.

the people complaining are mostly pc players and well to be honest the creation club i dont think was meant for you and heres why.

1. so on the nexus there are lots of great mods and lots of amazing settlement workshop mods that could easily fit into the 2.0 gb size limit how ever from experiance i have learnt that alot (not all but some) of modders are well sorry for my language here but they are ass-holes. they wont take the small 6 mins or so time it takes to upload a mod to xbox and ive seen some saying about how if u want mods get a pc but that shits expensive for people who cant afford it i mean i upgraded my pc and hell it still cant run fallout so yea there is that, and bethesda knew this so they made creation club in an attempt to get higher quality mods to consoles and hell people compare the cc versions and free but poor ps4 players cant een get the free versions.

2. the 2.0 gb limit was placed by microsoft (whats the limit for ps4 i do not know but it dont matter cause they cant get big ticket mods anyway) and its obvious it wont go up or it would have by now soo creation club acts as a way around it cause its dlc content really not indepentend mods.

and lastly the creation club we got right now is just a beta its not really the real thing because its not even on skyrim yet so yes they are just testing it most likely to make sure it works and so on give it some time to see what happens

(edit) oh and as i said about big mods maybe people who dont make mods might not know this but high quality mods take time to make even for companies like bethesda it could take a while like id love to see someone make a super high quality ass m4a1 mod with attachments and stuff overnight it wont happen

My opinion on CC is that:
1. Bethesda make custom shit.
2. Someone gets the mods and shares them.
Thats my opinion, no need to....well, you get me, but please, dont say the word out loud.

Small 6 minutes my arse. You obviously have no experience in the process that goes into making and publishing mods. Publishing a mod can sometimes take as long as making the damn thing, if you want the page to be half decent and not have every bean head that downloads your mod to ask the same damn question in the comments section. Disregarding the fact that you have to produce two sets of descriptions, mod images, etc. there's the support, two mod releases means twice the support needed, twice the inane questions to answer, twice the upload and update times. Not to mention the fact that most mod authors don't have a spare Xbox lying around to bug test their mod on. So fuck right off with your '6 minutes', it takes a hell of lot more time and effort than that. If you want to encourage mod authors to port their mods to that hollow shell of a modding platform, I would suggest that you stop being an immature, entitled little shit like the rest of the console userbase.

That is completely meaningless information, what you said there was:

"I put 64GB of RAM that the guy in PCWorld gave me in my 10 year old pc and it STILL can't play Fallout 4 at 4k 60fps, gosh darn it PC's are sooo expensive"

All in all, you seem to have missed the point as to why people are pissed at the CC entirely. They are pissed at it because it was aimed at console players that can't download the exact same content for free. That is literally why people are pissed off. Because the CC was supposed to be more than just paid mods. They marketed the goddamn thing on being not paid mods and then it turned out to be paid goddamn mods, that's why people are pissed.

@quicksilver500 Exactly, I was actually kinda excited when I heard it was gonna be custom DLC content. Then when it became paid mods 2.0 I was very disappointed. I thought I was gonna get some professionally made quests and gameplay changes and stuff like that. But no, we just got horse armor... AGAIN.

actually i do have experience haha i ported some skyrim mods for myself it took me 10 mins to port 2 sword mods and an armor mod its actually really easy to do porting mods to bethesda.net and im not talking about updating mods regerlly or something i meant as in when a mods fully completed so yea that comment about having to do things twice is kinda stupid and as for bug testing just put it in the wip section and ask people to test it.

and haha when i say my pc cant run fallout haha i mean it cant fucking run it like it crashes on start up cant run it so yea dude that comment was unessary and hell if it could run it id be happy with shitty quality hell ive played day z and he lowest graphics and 15 fps. fallout new vegas on low ass graphics and like 25 fps barely and i was fine with that so that comment was just silly haha

and if u had actally read my post a big part of it was about giving more time to bethesda to properly release the CC and its not really paid mods cause it not mods well maybe the backpack is but the rest of it is content from fallout 3 and so on so they probably made that stuff themselves (when i say made i mean updated and ported) the only thing actually made by a modder is probaly the backpack thing

I honestly have no real problem with the Creation Club existing. My only qualm is with the current pricing scale and the fact that the content is preloaded onto your PC. A few armours and a weapon should not be worth a sizable percentage of the base game's price.

Other than the pricing I see no problem with the CC as a whole.

Agreed ^

Its not the price, its the quality. If Beth made custom content that was BETTER than whats already out there I don't think people would have a problem with it. But it is in its infancy and I think Beth learnt their lesson the first time around trying to monetize on mods, lets hope it gets better.

Now on to Atriox's comment,

@Atriox - You need to try modding yourself and no I don't mean re-coloring something on paint.net and calling it a day. I mean provide support for it. The amount of unless dribble and stupid questions you get is unimaginable. You realize that putting a mod out there consists of more than merely uploading it yea?

No one can talk me into that CC will be great in the future, It SUCK and it will always remained suck. But I sure as hell they prove me wrong, but the survival mod that they put out for skyrim just prove it again.

I don't disagree with the idea. The problem is making quality mods that people will buy. Like the Chinese stealth armor I saw on CC looked much less detailed than the free version that somebody created long before.

They would have to make some high quality content to justify the price.

lmao
their mods are THEIR MODS, if they don't wanna port their mods to xbox for reasons then don't force them. if person A calls creator B an asshole because he has created something which A doesn't have a tool to use it, it's easy to tell that person A is an entitled and self-centred individual.

>creation club acts as a way around it cause its dlc content
iirc, Pete Hines (PR manager of Bethesda) told us creation club contents are not "paid mods or DLCs", therefore in terms of his justification, CC contents are not dlc contents Smile Smile

now, enough quoting about the author's slightly disorientated post, i am aware that this topic is posted months ago but i'd love to share my 2 pennies worth about cc too.

creation club concept was good, which they would collaborate with community mod authors from nexus (or simply "assholes" as described by author of this topic) and bethesda.net to create "creation club contents" while paying them via milestones. Then when it revealed itself on fallout 4 we kinda saw the ugliness of it -- providing the so-called "high quality" mods such as 1 USD paint jobs and retextures and 5 USD bugged power armor which we could get it from nexusmods for free. it is entirely true for me to simply ignore CC if i don't wanna buy any of them (i do ignore), but it's very worth discussing:

1. CC is built with "console" in-mind, simply because when they first rolled out all the contents from CC store were directly being downloaded into your drive, which wouldn't be noticed by the console (this was fixed in 1.10.26).
2. building a PC is expensive, not sure about that, but let me dissect what expensive is - 5 USD is more or less equal to 20MYR here, and is also equivalent to a total of 3 basic meals in my country.
3. once upon a time a mod author who is the co-author of 2 top 10 fallout 4 mods on nexus told me that he was a starving artist who placed 100% effort to modding and cc is a great place to start getting revenue
4. (a tad bit controversial) mod authors cried when they got 25% of nothing back when paid Skyrim mods were launched on steam and a bunch of users who stole some of their mods and published them in the workshop. this time, cc only allows "verified" mod authors to join and so far what i've heard, the sum of payment is not small. realistically speaking, mod authors would say that they take modding as a hobby and share to community but when earning cash is deemed possible from your hobby while being exposed by the official company who created games you've built your mods for, i think close to none will reject and say "i'm doing it just for the community" (heey, GUN is an exception).
5. extending no.4, when creation club was announced during E3 2017, not hard to believe, many top mod authors from nexus, as quick as a flash, sent dozen applications for it. one of them (hint: a co-author of the top fallout 4 quest and adventures mod) who got rejected - or precisely, no replies from beth while the others have already gotten theirs, swift as a coursing river, complained to Gopher about a. big mods are very likely to be NOT entertained by CC and b. he suspected the Creation Club business model was targeting mainly towards PS4 players and consisted of squeezing every penny outta them one step at a time.

my viewpoint for it, is that CC is sounding bad for the long run, although the idea was good initially, due to what they have been releasing and how the PR manager responded on behalf of CC. some mod authors have taken down their mods or quit modding, while transferred their mods to others in spite of CC, but some, especially top mod authors loved it. if CC is taken down, we might see another wave of mod authors to quit modding too. in the end this sounds more of breaking the long modding community just to increase corporate revenue. only way to fix it is as per many suggestions from the posts above mine, provide quality mods which are worth paying for instead of paint jobs.

So this is what a discussion looks like?

Thread author posts an opinion without clear reasoning or explanation; while citing exaggerated examples of circumstance in the attempt at making a point...where the only clear fact is the thread author has no actual grasp of the topic for which they wish to discuss.

Thread garners responses that "agree in spirit" of the inferred message I believe out of social courtesy.

Stating you upgraded your PC and you still cannot play FO4 without it crashing only reveals your inability to select effective hardware that would meet the published minimum requirements for the game or your inability to configure the game's installation...or a combination therein. For all I know the reason your computer can't run fallout 4 is you aren't double clicking the icon to launch the game...or your pc isn't plugged in.

Complaining - that's what you're really doing...you don't want to discuss anything...that requires at least two perspectives and you're interested in only one; the rest you take a defensive approach and make attempts at proving to be incorrect...news flash...they're opinions based in part on one's interpretation and understanding of facts.

Warning-When you get on the internet and you ask for "2 cents" you get the whole damn dollar.

The creation club...yeah let's bitch a little

Screw that whole thing man...it's a total sham a farce a complete lie! They call it dlc...it's not dlc; dlc is like cherries and whip cream on an ice cream sundae...this shit's more like buying individual sprinkles...weapon skins? ARE YOU SERIOUS?

(awesome movie trailer announcer voice) "Coming Spring of 2018 - in a post apocalyptic commonwealth...one individual stands to face every challenge imaginable; robots - defeated - rogue synths - defeated - settlements - helped - nuka world - conquered - vault - constructed...and now weapons - skinned"

Yeah that shit is NOT DLC...or wait...what about a backpack? Could you would you buy a backpack? No nonono...let's add some paint for power armor...or how about new furniture? I can just imagine the round table discussions that went on...it was a question posed on a Friday at lunch "attention all employees...we will have a show n tell contest in 1 hour for all digital content we plan to put in the creation club...all submissions must have been created today as we have already reviewed our entire catalog of  content"

I'm rambling...if there is a point anywhere in this, I assure you it was by mistake. Thank you for your time and attention and I return you to your regularly scheduled program
