Who do you think would win? And don't say courier just because he/she is more older and would have more experience then. That'd be wrong because the lone wanderer would be older by the time the courier's story took place. Please come up with a reasonable explanation for why you chose one of them. And no raging fanboys! Although I doubt there'll be one here.

The lone wander has gone through more shit than the courier that as well as the tech from the BoS and Lyons pride it's not looking good for the courier.

None of them can beat each other since both of them are just you, how good they are are just depend on your skills and your role.

Yeah Lone Wanderer definitely. Aswell as what Trentosss mentioned about having BOS gear and experience with the Lyons Pride (and he/she certainly would have this, as theyre parts of the main quest that no player can avoid) id also wager fighting the hordes of hulking super mutants native to DC is far more...'character-building' than the majority of enemies that you encounter in the Mojave. (lets face it, its mostly mutated animals.)

I'd say the courier. Not much is known about the couriers past unlike the lone wanderer who we knew grew up in a vault. The courier has spent more time in the wasteland and has been to many different locations which have hardened him unlike the lone wanderer who was sheltered in a vault and then became the survivor he/she is.Also Although the capital wasteland is far more harsher than the Mojave desert both characters have had to fight through very challenging enemies and navigate tough terrain. Lastly the courier got shot in the head and lived that's pretty impressive if you ask me.

i believe the lone wanderer is better, fallout 3 had better characters and a better story than new vegas did.

The Courier would probably win. Some of you are saying the Lone Wanderer would win because of the tech from the BoS and his experience with Lyon's Pride, if that was the case, then the Lone Wanderer could only beat the courier with a Power Armor? And he doesn't really have much experience with Lyons Pride, he fought with them 2 times or so. The Courier is really mysterious and you don't really know much about his past, he could be a former BoS soldier as far I you know, that's why I say he would "probably win" because he could have this really cool past as an awesome hardcore fase 3 super saiyan warrior or he could be a simple courier that delivered the mail in his hometown. Also, I know that Fallout 3 has a better story, but that doesn't really affect how tough is the Lone Wanderer.

Good question. I would say the Lone Wanderer has the edge. Not necessarily win, but an advantage nonetheless.

For starters, assuming the good ending of Broken Steel, the LW has access to more advanced weapons and armors thanks to the Enclave. Pretty sure that Tesla MKII and Hell Fire armors remains pretty much exclusive to the Capital Wasteland BOS and LW as of New Vegas.

Technology wise, the Courier does have the technology from Big Mt, but then, the LW commands an alien spaceship with a death ray. So yeah...

Of course, if each person is allowed to bring help, then I suppose Courier with an army of Securitron takes it.

On first instinct I'd say Courier 6, due to his previous experience with the post-apocalyptic world and its workings (and being able to properly aim down sights ).

Then again, the Lone Wanderer put down countless raiders, super mutants, Enclave soldiers, etc - people and creatures who call the Wasteland their home. To grow up never witnessing/experiencing armed conflict (although combat skills can be tagged in the G.O.A.T.), escape a Vault and beat the Wastelanders at their own game? That's something alright, especially at 19 years of age.

Saying who would win is difficult and highly debatable, involving many different factors and chance. So I won't say who would win. But, I know who would lose if the two ever met - anything caught in their way, no matter if they fought or teamed up to kick the bad guys in their daddy bags.

LOL depends on the area on where they fought... the courier would win in the Mojave and the wanderer in the capital, also if the courier did the veronica's quests and shit then he would to have power armor and it's training, also if he had say Boone then he would definitely have an upper hand

I can't justifiably answer this, since I use TTW all the time.. Both the LW and TC are the same person in my game.. By the time I reach the Mojave, my LW has become an experienced wasteland wandering prick that somehow decided to start delivering packages for people to make up for all the killing he did in DC after leaving his vault all those years ago.. Yeah, it's a hard life..

I prefer the lone wanderer, he has had to deal with tougher challenges in my opinion. His title also sounds better.

I would say the Lone Wanderer because his story is better like he escaped the vault so search for his father and yeah i enjoyed it

Depends what you want:
Lone Wanderer. More personal. You develop into your person.
Courier 6. Build your own backstory. Forge your own path.

In RPG's it can be tiring to b so special, which is why I like the courier more. Your not on some big quest (unless you choose to join a faction) Your just somebody caught up in the conflicts of the wasteland.

Exactly what furente said about the courier, and for that very reason, I would go any day for the courier, it feels more immersing , and that your choices do really make a difference. Go for ncr, a political stance is reborn, hail to ceasar, the fall to tyranny is imminent, freedom to new Vegas, an anarchaic but free to be Vegas rises. The fact that you can beat the game without even having to fight at all shows just how great it is to be the courier, but of course that's optional . The wanderer has his moments but I don't feel it the same way as the courier, but I'll always love fallout 3!
