| So I'm making an outfit mashup, I merge meshes together and position them just right, I press apply so the changes stick. It all looks quite alright in Nifskope, but in GECK and ingame the positioning is way off in varying degrees. Is there easier way to fix this than trial-and-error? Ideally a solution that doesn't require additional programs, but if it come down to it, oh well. - The Model on Nifskope:
- The Model in G.E.C.K. (Looks the same ingame):

| I've had this problem before, its an easy fix if you have the right programs installed The easiest way I know of would be to download blender version 2.47 and the python plugin that allows you to edit .nifs with it. Then import the .nif in question, right click on all of the seperate pieces and then press ctrl+A, and select "Scale and Rotation to Obdata", then export the nif and copy paste each mesh segment back into your original mesh, making sure to rename everything appropriately If that doesn't work send me a pm, alternatively you can just send me the nif and I can do it for you in about 2 minutes |

| @"quicksilver500" Thanks for the tips, man! i might actually take you up on that offer, but I'll see what I can do on my end first. And you don't know of a solution via Nifskope alone?
So if I'm gonna do this Blender method (or if I just send you the .nifs) does that mean the process will have to be done on each piece as individual .nif files, or can I do the process on multiple pieces inside one .nif?
Thanks again for the help, I'm more of just a textures guy really. _________________ |

| @Medved59722 no problem, I appreciate you taking a shot at it yourself, I like your style no method of doing it with nifskope as far as I'm aware, then again I don't know what exactly is causing the problem so it might be possible. I've figured out by trial and error that the method I mentioned above does work You can do the process on multiple pieces inside the nif you're having trouble with, just remember to replace the old, not working, sections with the ones you export from blender Oh, and if you get as far as exporting, make sure you use these settings: - Spoiler:
Well that suits, because I'm more of a meshes guy |
