| So I was wondering how true the phrase "I spend more time modding 'x-game' than playing it!" is. X-game being Fallout New Vegas, Fallout 4, or Skyrim. So I decided to make a poll! Sorry but this isn't really applicable to those that don't play at least one of the three previously mentioned games. The question is, "What do you spend most of your 'gaming' time doing?" And by gaming time I mean time spent on the game. This includes modding, tweaking, etc. as well as the time spent playing the damn thing I look forward to your responses! **EDIT** for clarity, the third option also includes making small tweaks to vanilla assets/values

| @"LukaTheJawa" I spend most of my time these days tweaking as well I'm compiling a replacer pack of sorts using the weapons I find on here, aarius' mojave terror pack gave me a good few, but I find that many weapons added to the game can be unimmersive, due to me being the only one with them, the modern-ness of the weapons, and the way they all have model accurate names. So I instead use the meshes as replacers for vanilla guns. So far I have the assault, service and marksman carbines replaced with US M-designation weapons, the LMG replaced with an M60 mesh, a ranger sequoia replacer and an anti-material rifle replacer. I've also added in the Sta-52 assault rifle from Killzone from aarius' weapon pack not only that but I'm using the same esp to replace a lot of the weapon sounds in the game with corresponding BF4 weapon sounds from a file I found on here a few weeks ago, I'm afraid I can't remember the author's name at the moment :/ so yeah, I'm spending a lot of my time fucking around in the G.E.C.K |

| Hello guys. In my case most of the time spent on the game and then on modifications to it. Now I have about 280 hours in Fallout New Vegas. Of these 200 hours of game time and only about 80 on modifications to it. Speaking about 80 hours modifying games, I'm talking about installation, verification and finding quality modifications. And Yes, working with modifications often hinders the further desire to play the game. Pretty funny that for these 200 hours I never finish the game or even touch DLCs. _________________ |

| I've spent over 815 hours in New Vegas, over 1200 in Morrowind/Skyrim/Oblivion. I've spent a massive amount of time modding, too. If I were to make an assumption, I'd say I've spent at least 72 hours modding. _________________ |

| I recently realized i spend more time tweaking mods from others in Fo4edit than playing. For the stuff that i do, i don't really need the CK.
It started with a simple merged patch for all weapon mods i have that don't use scripted injection. Then tweaking the drop rates. Tweaking the base values of those guns. Then moving on to tweaking the modifications, like decreasing sway on scopes, decreasing shotgun spread and increasing range to realistic values, etc.
There's a ton of quality weapon mods out there that don't add them to leveled lists, so the next thing i started doing was adding those to leveled lists. Been doing that for a while now and pretty much mastered weapon leveled lists. Armor leveled lists are a pain to work with but iv'e managed to add some cool armor mods to them.
Nowdays when i download a mod the first thing i do is open up Fo4edit and think what i should do with it with that crazy look in my eyes. |

| Used to mod Fo3 more than I played it. Reason was I didn't think the game felt "balanced" enough or "right" enough for me to stop looking so hard for mods to achieve the aim of a true FPS-Survival goal that I had in mind. A game that's coming out, "Escape from Tarkov", have the aims that I wanted Fo3 to have - the animations, the game play, the survival aspect. Fo:NV, however, had betters mods than Fo3 did and helped me achieve what I wanted to have in Fo3. So, with the vision I wanted to have being achieved, I stopped spending so much time on modding and more time on playing now. |

| For me the phrase is completely true towards the first 200 hours. I spend hours / days making my game playable with mods, then i go through and tweak and or remove mods till i'm satisfied.
When it comes to the one's i remove it tends to be because of the following conditions - Not Lore friendly - Game breaking - Isn't worth an ESP slot - Makes me OP or makes the game too easy
If it's a weapon or outfit mod, then i have to earn it in game. If it's just provided to me via "a crate in Goodsprings" then i remove it because i consider that cheating.
This isn't so much the case for New Vegas anymore because i have been playing New Vegas for over 1000 hours which has given me plenty of time and experience to narrow down my load order, so now i just play without having to tweak anything at all.
Fallout 4 is a different story for me right now, i've never really earned all the achievements nor have i even played Far Harbor or Nuka World. I'm still tweaking the installed mods so i don't run into any problems mid playthrough, ie Mod breaking quests. I play only to find out a specific mod breaks things that isn't even relevant to the mod. *Cough "Welcome to Goodneighbor" *Cough
Once things are settled, i will certianly end up surpassing the hours i have spent tweaking the game to my standards. _________________ |

| Playing Fallout 3/Skyrim/Oblivion and making my own mods VIA resources. Mostly modding though.
I know for a fact that I have spent way more time modding than playing any of the three (could easily be 500+ hours). I remember always coming home from school and always looking forward to being able to loose myself in working on one of my conversions, mostly my Mass Effect one though.
Don't mod much nowadays though as most of the resources I need now need to either be ripped and rigged or just rigged - mostly the latter of which I have no idea on how to do unfortunately. _________________ - Quotes:

Like opening the armor in Blender/3DSMax, and rigging it to the F3/NV skeleton. I can somewhat do weapons and have done so in the past, but armor is beyond me. Also the GECK stuff is super easy, never had issues with it and know how to do most things in it (minus scripting). _________________ - Quotes:

| To be fair, I have always spent more time playing the game than adding mods to it. Sometimes I may go on for four hours or so adding mods to the game but overall I spend more time playing, which makes me blessed in a way. Many people spend hours, weeks carefully planning their load order while I just sit there and decide yes or no.
I have a project I'm working on but I keep procrastinating. I'm not even sure if I'm going to complete it being the beginner I am but mostly my time is going to playing the game. It sounds bad but I'd rather enjoy the spare time I have rather than waste it all creating something that might not see the light of day, so I'm taking my sweet time. |

| I find it very fun to mod games, sometimes I mod it to see how far I can go. While other times I do it moderately. I do spend a fair amount of time modding but I also play the game too, because that's the whole purpose of modding to me. _________________ "I am not existing, nor am I lifeless." |

| I think 50+ of my FNV playtime was dedicating it to configuring, fixing, and trial and errors. Even caused me to black out of fnv completely for days. For fo4 I spent less time dling mods since the settlement builder keep me in the game unmodded for some time. |

| It seems I have a pretty good balance compared to most. Spend most of my time actually playing and probably about half of that modding though it might be closer to 70%. Out of my time spent modding most of it is usually tweaking what others have done but almost half is making my own. I spend a lot of that time rigging in 3dsmax though I don't do that too often. @Fury I've only ever rigged a model for Skyrim in 3dsmax and I can point you in the right direction for that but knowing there are people here who are masters of importing armor to New Vegas hopefully someone can give you more specific help. |

| 90% of time on my life is modding and 30%-40% i play.
i rarely play games mostly, modding.
modding as in adding content,
but if its installing mods it would be
50% since i usually take about 3-4 days to install mods. Skyrim/Fallout 4 |
