In the end, all we could do was watch.
As the apocalypse fell, we knew,
We knew we had been lied to.
Shock, Denial, anger, Guilt,
We Bargain, we became depressed
Finally, we accepted what was to come, but
There was no hope, no, not for us. It moved down
in slow motion, and we mourned ourselves as we fell.
Just as the world lightened up, the fire we had inside of
ourselves flickered out, and what is left is cold. We didn't
know what was next, but we knew what has been, can no
Longer be. The old world burned, and we burn, and so we
must. In every motion we took, we stepped closer to "this",
not one could tell us "stop". There were those that screamed
at us, that fell to their knees, that begged and that cried, and
not one listened. We even took the people that pleaded for
peace,and we crucified them, and we laughed at them, we
laughed and said "what fools, how can we lose when we
are the great, we are the powerful, we are always the
victors." What fools we were, what prideful people,
we were truly doomed to fall, weren't we? Its
funny now, how clear it was that the end
was so imminent, and we were
so blind to see what was,
what was always,
the end.
