| Subject: Goodsprings Crash [solved] Thu May 08, 2014 4:38 am | |
| Hey Guys i´ve got a small problem with new vegas. everytime i want to travell to goodspings my game crahes. i also can not load any savegames which were made in goodsprings, that will crash the game too. but i can load the savegames which were made e.g. in doc mitchells house. i can also walk in goodspings without any problem.
can someone help me?

| There is such a diverse array of reasons as to why the game can crash, pinpointing the exact reason is difficult without specifics like load order. Here is some basic advice: First are you using the 4gb enabler? if not definitely start using it, it could be an address space problem as there's a lot of stuff in goodsprings. Next install NVAC: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/53635/? If it doesn't eliminate the crashes it will at least reduce them and produce a log file that may help locate the problem. If this doesn't help please post your load order and we'll go from there. I hope this helps.

| When you say travel do you mean fast travel? It could be a memory issue like hitman47101 says. I know back when I was playing more than writing I had a similar issue and discovered that I could still fast travel to places like Good Springs Source or the Goodsprings Sewer marker from AWOP without an issue even if I would crash using the standard Goodpsrings marker. You could try that as an easy workaround.
...otherwise, now that I'm writing and shooting more than playing, I've found using "coc goosprings" from the console works even when fast travel would not.

| Your load order is a bit messed up, that could be a contributing to the crashes. I recommend installing and running BOSS: http://boss-developers.github.io/ It will partially sort your load order for you but it wont sort most of it as it's very out of date at this point. Its successor LOOT is not out of date but it uses a different method to sort plugins and i haven't tested it yet so i can't recommend it. Delete EVE FNV - NO GRA.esp and EVE FNV - NO DLC, They're not active and shouldn't be in your data folder, they can only do harm. They are other small problems too, the lack of a merged patch and the fact that you have a lot of simple weapon mods that really should be merged, that's more for neatness and maybe stability, its up to you if you want to go that path. | What does BOSS say exactly when you try to run it? also have you run the game from steam in a while? because if its not finding FNV then the reg entry might not be there. running from steam one time will fix that. |

| I don't see anything that would make GS fatal. The only think I can honestly suggest is disable a mod at a time or in groups of five maybe until something works.
Another possibility ...do you have any weapons that had weapon mods installed on them from mods you have since disabled? _________________ |

| As Brigand said items from mods no longer installed is probably the biggest reason for corrupted areas and saves.
One thing you can do is use FOMMs save games tool to see the plugins your save file depends on, if any are missing then that may the problem.
Also I'd like to apologize, i got carried away and sorta forgot you're getting crashes in a specific area, instead of crashes everywhere. none of the advise I've given you is specific to your problem, more just crashes in general, sorry about that. |

| i´ve installed project nevada a time ago and then disable it. but i play the same savegame could this be the reason? i will try it out

ok guys. i solved my problem. my savegames was corrupted. i created a new one and all works, no problems anymore. i think project nevada caused my problem Thanks for your help, great community and again thanks, I would never have thought of it that a disabled mod causes so much problems |

| Awesome! I'm glad you were able to figure it out. I'm sorry you had to start a new game, that's just the nature of these things sometimes. I doubt it was a Project Nevada problem specifically, it would of happened with any mod substantially complex. Have fun! |

| That's alright then. Some of drags armors have been uploaded here, its mostly new stuff from Titanfall and such. the majority of the old packs haven't been uploaded yet as there is over 10 gigabytes of content, but i believe the plan is to upload them eventually. i never had access to the original packs ether. There's a good chunk of content already here though. I'm sure you'll be promoted soon, with 42 posts and a good attitude it wont take you long. |

Edit: This might sound odd, but sometimes you can sort of attempt to rescue a corrupted save by getting yourself killed and letting the game load. Dunno how or why, but sometimes it clears stuff that's funky. |
