Subject: Favorite Vanilla Fallout Radio Station Tue Sep 20, 2016 9:48 pm
Hey there again, guys.
So, earlier I was playing around in Fallout 4 and finishing up Nuka World(Yes, I am finally finished.) and while I was raiding settlements and the like I was listening to a radio station known as Red Rocket Bop from the Old World Radio mod. However as I was playing around and listening to the station it made me realize how much I missed Radio New Vegas. And brought up this question to mind. Which was my favorite vanilla radio station in the Fallout games? When I say vanilla, I mean the radio station in the base games. No modding. Just the radio stations on their own with their base DJs.
Three Dog was of course a fun guy and it was always fun to listen to him broadcast the news of what I had done across the Capital Wasteland. He had passion, he had charisma, and was just an all around likable guy.
There's also the Enclave station. However not really much happens on that station except the fact that you have President Eden talking and a bit of patriotic music. It's alright to listen on occasion, but not something I listened to all the time.
Next we had Mr. New Vegas. He was more restrained and not as loud as Three Dog, but he had a big heart. He seemed kind of like the grandfather type to me, and honestly it's disappointing that we never do get to meet him, but it does leave that mystery with him.
Then we have Travis....this is my opinion..., but I hated Travis. I get the idea. He's a guy who's always nervous and always afraid and through a quest you can boost up his confidence. However a man like that should not be in charge of a major radio station in the first place. I even think there's a moment where he breaks down and screams or something. It's ridiculous.
After that we have the Classical Station(Or the Institute Station if you prefer.). Not much to say about this one. It just plays classical music. Not a bad station and it can be relaxing at times.
And finally we have Red-Eye from the Nuka World DLC. Honestly...why couldn't we have him in the base Fallout 4 game?! I think he's pretty funny! Sure, he's a raider who talks highly about himself and makes up stories to make himself look good, but at least he's funny at times. My only gripe is I didn't like his singing. I would have rather had him as the DJ then they continue with tradition and play normal music when he's not speaking, but that's just me.
Right. So...which one was my personal favorite? Well....alright, I'm sure you guys saw this coming. Mr. New Vegas. I'm sorry to the others, but Mr. New Vegas is just fun to listen to and his music choices are legendary. Minus Johnny Guitar, I can listen to all those songs a thousand times and not get bored with them. And as I said before, Mr. New Vegas is just such a likable guy!
Anyway, that was my choice, but what is your favorite station? Please tell me down below!

Nothing beats Radio New Vegas, especially with songs like 'Ain't that a Kick in the head' and the all famous 'Johnny Guitar'.

My favourite is Mojave Music Radio, I like Mr. New Vegas and Three Dog, but I just prefer music, no talking.

Huh, that's a tough one. The 3 games all have great radio stations, kinda hard to choose a favorite one.
Haven't played Fo3 in a long time, but I still remember Three Dog's voice. He's a great radio DJ and I also really liked the little drama sequences that told the stories of "Daring" Dashwood and his ghoul buddy Argyle. Whenever I think of Fo3, Galaxy news radio and Three Dog are some of the 1st things that comes to my mind. That's why I prefer this radio over...
New Vegas Radio. FNV is the fallout game that I've played the most, and as much as like the songs (except johnny f**king guitar) and Mr New Vegas, I've just had too much of it. Mr New Vegas is nice and classy and all, and the songs are cool (again, except johnny bloody f**king guitar), but for me it's not as memorable as GNR and Three Dog.
As for Fo4, I can't quite say yet as I've only been playing the game for a week or so. But it has good radio stations, my favorite one being the Classical Radio Station. I think it's a nice change to listen to classical instead of 50's old school style songs. There was one track in particular that really got me, I can't say what's the name of it (will have to go through the list and check them out one by one), but I was struck down by the beauty of it. I was wandering through some ruined building, scavenging, and the track fit perfectly well with the post-apocalyptical world and atmosphere of the game, great experience. I also like Travis and his Diamond City (already did his quest, so it gets better), and the songs are quite good too. My favorite track on this radio being this one :
End of The World by Skeeter Davis:
. But that said I still prefer the Classical one, though it lacks a DJ.
To conclude, my favorite fallout radio station is Galaxy News Radio, I mean Three Dog is just too good. Wished they'd have put him in Fo4. I could listen to him all day, even without music. And I also gotta give credits for the guys that choose the classical tracks for Fo', they did a great job.

Yeah, there was something about Three-Dog that made him memorable, but playing through FO3 again I'm finding his dialog loops so much I can only listen a little after each new quest is completed. I actually really like Enclave radio.

Yeahhh the 14 year old me loved three dog talking about all the things I have done the 23 me gets annoyed by him and the small list of songs looped as well as the dashwood skits...ohhhh the daring skits as well....if i hear shady shuffle keeehhhhh one more time...I swear. Ill have to give it to FO4 because Wayne newton was boring and the music was better in FO4 and I kind like travis.

Loved Mr. New Vegas, he was an AI programmed by Mr. House From what I read. Listened to him mostly to hear if my exploits or misadventures made the news and to listen to Johnny Guitar nonstop. :^)

I can't really say I have a favorite station in Fallout 3, I listened to Galaxy News Radio because it was the only decent one. Music wise atleast, I freaking hated Three Dog and I'm absolutely glad they didn't put him back in FO4.
I already blew his head off in FO3 and did NOT need him back in FO4. Funny enough I enjoyed GNR more when TD was dead, shouldn't have belittled me prick.
For NV it has to be Radio New Vegas, with Mr New Vegas. He had this soothing voice I just could keep listening to over and over. As stated before he gives this grandfather figure feeling when you listen to him. Besides hearing Johnny Guitar over and over it was a great radio station. Kinda a shame you can't meet him but it's not really a downside.
Besides RNV I also enjoyed tuning into Black Mountain Radio whenever I was in range. Hearing Tabitha talk with herself was just so hilarious, I couldn't bring myself to destroying it.
In FO4 I really liked Diamond City Radio, I know that Travis can come off annoying but I really like how he is personally. I absolutely love his remark about taking back the Castle: "Was it full of fish? or monsters? or Monster Fish?" DCR had some great music though.
I sometimes enjoyed tuning into Freedom Radio, for that lovely music although mostly it got repeated. Also I think it's a shame we couldn't interact with Red-Eye, would've loved blowing his brains out. Was my first thought upon entering Nuka World.
All in all I have to say my favorite has to be Radio New Vegas, has great songs and a great host. Next to that would be Diamond City Radio.
