Subject: So I tried my hand at modding... Thu Feb 08, 2024 8:51 pm
I modded in a companion from an internet meme and let's just say it didn't go well. The voice files were acting up, he doesn't reload his weapon ever, and I find him sprinting around in circles when I go to meet him.
By far, the worst issue is the voice lines. I couldn't figure out how to put voice lines in the geck and assign them to him so I played the voice lines into the geck using my phone speaker. Yes, I actually did that. And it sounds hilariously bad. It's unfinished but I left it on the nexus for peeps in case they want to fix it or reinstall for unknown reasons.
But I will give myself some credit. I think the companion at least looks like guy from the meme, so long as you have character kit remake installed. Even vanilla looks a little like him in my opinion.
I've given up on the mod because I need to focus on job hunting for now.
Anyway, I wanted to make this a sort of appreciation post for you modders out there who spend the time to figure this stuff out so we brainlets can drag n' drop and scream at you for incompatibilities.
Truly, thank you for the time and effort you give up for the rest of us who can't.
