Hello VGU!

I'm Zzimith when I'm on Bethesda games-related forums, Zimith in other places on the internet and Jonas away from keyboard. I live in Sweden and I've played Bethesda games virtually non stop (and almost exclusively) since Morrowind was released. Atm I play only FNV and Skyrim.

To be completely honest, I join VGU because of the awesome mods I can apparently only get here, so that's an important reason for me joining, definitely. Before I decided to actually post I checked around the forum a little bit (what I could access) and read the FAQ. I was admittedly a bit hostile to the whole "exclusiveness" - idea at first, but I understand the reason better after reading up on the FAQ. My impression is that the tone is very civilized and dedicated, which is nice Smile

I have a tendency to write walls of text so I'll try and refrain from torturing you guys! Looking forward to see more of the forums. Cheers! :hellobig:

Hi Zzim, I've not been here very long myself.

However I can offer this: the goal of these forums is to create and maintain a worthwhile community of people who actually contribute (meaningfully) to conversations and to the site itself.

There are unfortunately many people who register here that have no interest in that, they spam the board with the minimum amount of fluff posts to get access to the files and mods here. From what I've gathered it was getting especially bad on the old version of the site.

The 'exclusivity' you speak of was something I misunderstood myself in the past. But what it really boils down to is... people here make mods that wouldn't be allowed on the Nexus sites or such, and they're intended to be one of the perks of being a productive/useful/helpful/etc member of these forums. People spend a lot of time and effort on the mods here, and so it makes sense that those files are aimed at people who actually bring something to the table.

So yeah, there's very little patience/tolerance for people who are obviously only here for the mods. So stay active and contribute to the conversations... its a fun place for that, as I've discovered firsthand.

Hey there. Lovin your profile picture; keepin it classy man. I felt the same way at first, until I figured out why the exclusiveness what put into place. It's a necessity, but I also kinda like the sense of community it creates. It's also something to work towards (enjoyable work), so that's cool too. I hope you enjoy your stay Zoidberg
