Just wanted to know what everyone's favourite Star Wars Legends era is.
Personally I'm a big fan of the New Republic Era, when the New Republic is forming, and Luke struggle with beginning to recreate the Jedi order and deal with the fallout of the rebellion, and the returning threats of that era.
Plus the Thrawn trilogy takes place during that era, and I love the Thrawn trilogy.

If you can't remember the different eras it goes:

1. Before the Republic
2. Old Galactic Republic
3. Rise of the Emprie
4. Rebellion
5. New Republic
6. New Jedi Order
7. Legacy

The Old Republic era hands down. Tons of sith and jedi both at their peak of powers. Vitiate fucking things up, Revan being cool all around, Mandalorian wars. It's just sooo good to me.

Old Republic era easily wins, but I can give the Rise of the Empire era second place, due to the interesting stories from the Clone Wars. Especially the Republic Commando series of novels (and the game!)

Good choice @"GhostCR0" and @"Archangel470", TOR has tons of great stuff to enjoy, I think I'd enjoy it more if I played the KOTOR games though, I know I'm so late to the party for those, but backlogs and all.

I have to agree, TOR era has to be the best.

So we talking about SW Legends, yeah. The True SW, without Darth Mouse and Disney the Hutt influence.
Well, IMHO, Old Republic is one of the cooliest. Second one is the Rebellion and third is Legacy.
Would you give me some sources for pre-republic era?

I really liked the era of the Clone Wars and the time leading up to it before Alpha-17 was replaced by Captain Rex in the TCW tv series.

Things like the Battle of Jabiim and the like. Really helped define Anakin as a character imo, and how he was becoming disillusioned with the Jedi. They were suppose to be the good guys who save everyone and yet, along with the Republic, they leave the natives of Jabiim at the mercy of the CIS.

The  thrawn ERA by far , empire of  the hand rocks . and yes i know what you put by thawn himself was an ERA and his death was the end of an era imo.

Of course, the old republic.

In the times of Exar Kun, Revan and Malak, the Mandalorian crusades, Vitiate, the Triumvirate and the great Galactic war.

I really hope they reincorporate a lot of that stuff into canon. The beauty of the old republic is that it can exist without affecting the main story.

I would have to go with the Old Republic era as well. I found the writing to be of good overall quality and the philosophy of the Star Wars universe to be very well-done and fleshed out. I would highly recommend paying very close attention to Kreia's beliefs in Knights of the Old Republic II. She has a very intriguing and unique outtake on things that I could not really find in any other Star Wars media.

The Yuzahn Vong War. Where ever that falls under, I just love the whole Idea that aside being power hungry that the Vong were the reason the Empire was so tyrannical. Palpatine believed the best way to defend from the Vong or "Far Outsiders" was to have a strong Centralized government with a large and strong military power. Basically the old saying "Together we stand, Divided we fall". Granted he was also a giant prick.
