Hello everyone! I dont know how many times this topic has been brought up but I was wondering what factions you guys choose for Fallout 4? It is really hard for me to choose because they all seem kinda shady. The institute seem to be a little bit sketcher then the rest but I find it hard killing your own son. Anyways it would be awesome if a few of you guys could leave me what factions you choose and why? <3
*facepalm* I just realized I posted this in trouble shooting. Sorry!

hello i moved you're topic from troubleshooting to fallout/discussion feel free to remove the text "IGNORE" in you're title
or if you want this topic removed be sure to ask me and it'll be done
your very welcome buddy, and don't worry about making the occasional mistake everyone makes them from time to time
and to avoid going completely off topic ill answer the subject relating to your topic, i chose the brotherhood i always loved them in every fallout game and i like how they are willing to do anything that's necessary to get the job done even when they sometimes come off as evil, i personally don't think they are evil i don't even see the enclave as evil they are all just fighting for what they believe to be the best chance for humanity and it's only natural for humans to disagree with each other lol

@FoVet20 Ya I see that plus I guess the power armor and vertibird are not a bad perk.

i personally didn't really like the t60 power armor and used the vertibird maybe once, my character wore the x-01 chest piece, t51b helmet and t60 shoulders and 1 x-01 lef with a t60 leg lol

It took me a long time to choose between the Institute and the Brotherhood. The Minutemen are good but their action are only local. The Railroad is the first faction I abandonned, their goal is noble but they have disparity inside their own group ( protecting the gen3 but why not gen1 and 2 and then ? protecting the turret ? ). The Institute has the technology to help, the synth could be used for big work like demolition and reconstruction (one thing thoug why giving the synth a consciousness but wanting to control them ?) The Brotherhood always goes to the goal no matter what and are loyal to each other(like The Boss said "Loyalty to the end").

Well for me i have to say that i didn't really like any of them, why? Well lets start off with the Brotherhood Of Steel.
I know that they are doing what is best for the Commonwealth, but for me, the more i played for them, i kind of realised that they acted like the Nazi's than the saviours, they have all of that Technology, and of course they help some people, but if there are good Mutants or Good Synths they are like "SHOOT IT, BOMB IT, BURN IT, DO WHATEVER YOU MUST TO KILL THAT ABOMINATION." And the Elder has some very huge hate for the Synths, im pretty sure that even if my character turned out to be a Synth after i became a Sentinal, im pretty sure he would send a hit squad after me rarther than here me out, they just hate Synths in general, its like they think they are the master race like the Legion in Fallout New Vegas.
The Railroad - Phhh, who cares about them?
The Minutemen - Honestly i thougth that they would be the good ones, but they don't really do much in terms of helping, they mostly just sent you to look after a Settlement and say that is help, if they are the better saviours then there should be patrols, checkpoints, wars against other factions like the Mutants or Raiders, but instead they just sit on their ass at the Castle and expect you to do the work, and call themselves the saviours.
And finnaly the Institute, at first i really thought that they could be the good guys, but instead they really are not any different from the Bos, they just want to kill, burn and wipe out everything because they think that they are the master race, it would of have been better if they really were the good guys and that people could start realising that the real enemy is the Bos, but sadly it never came to that.
But anyways that is my opinion on the Factions, just a side note i went with the Bos on my first playthrough.

Since I had to choose a faction, I went with the Railroad and Minutemen.. BoS seemed like Nazis and the Institute slave owners. I'd prefer a neutral game where I take no sides, but oh well.

It does, works for me and darkjak94, if it doesn't work for you then just paste this in a new tab.

@"VeteranAlpha96" When I saw the coat I've got a full American psycho card scene flashback.
(that's the full scene but the moment I refer is at 1:10)

I chose Institute at first. I mean it's your son and you should support him. I think Synth companions and support is pretty cool, too. You can have Power Armors (i absolutely love the Winterized T51b) without BoS and the Vertibird feature is ridiculous, especially that you can't fly on your own and have to buy signal grenades for quick travel. Railroad has my favourite companion tho. And the minutemen questline doesn't have that much background and that's a downside for me
