ok so after playing through i realized that bethesda has actually kinda set up ready for the protagonist to go to china i know i know i sound crazy but hear me out

ok so there would be or could be or maybe will be 2 ways to get to china

ok so the 1st one and most obvious but the nuclear sub that u can find after you help the captine you get to go to china with him

2nd one and well this one is dependable but using the uss constitution because if you speak to the Capetian he actually says that their mission is to go to china and attack so after the little mishape maybe you get to help them launch again landing in the intended spot then go with them to china
but if u choose to join the scavs this will not be possible

what do you all think

So far the sub would be the best way. If you look at how the USS Constitution is in the building...it will fly more into Boston (Unless they can steer WICH THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in Fo3's expansion mothership zeta, don't you get to know that china is nuked to pieces?

If beth cares about consistency at all, then I really doubt they will have an china expansion.

Playing all the Fallout games they say the same thing about America. I'm sure it's just a figure of speech just saying its wasteland. But also can you provide a source? I don't recall any feedback on postwar China.

DLC? Yes, possibly. Game? Definitely not. It wouldn't be Fallout if the whole game was set in China. So Fallout 5 will not be set there.

If they're smart about story, I'd imagine they'd make it an escalation in a Cold War scenario being manipulated by arms-dealers (or someone like Vault-Tec... hint hint).

I'm not sure if it is a good idea or something Bethesda wants to tackle. Depicting other nationalities/cultures, especially non-western cultures, have always been challenging in video game design.

After they're done with all the States and maybe even a big collaboration of all states in one game (some day, in the future), then it might be a possibility, that is if they decided not to kill(retire) the IP then .

Yeah, I though China was a crater. I doubt it is a good idea, I can also imagine it being a pain to design an alternate history China

I'd rather it go to Canada/Alaska first. With all the fuss the games make about Anchorage/the annexation of Canada, I'm really curious to see how these "fringe" regions fared.

Terrain-wise, I'm sure it would feel a lot like Skyrim... but is that a bad thing? Honest Hearts DLC was terrain heavy but still an awesome use of space.

I would like to see a China mission DLC, would be interesting to see, but before that Canada and Alaska would be awesome to see as well.

I can't find anything saying China is completely destroyed, so i assume it's in the same condition as the U.S. In fact Black Isle devs had a cancelled fallout game were you can go through many parts of the world including Canada, China, Mongolia and others as you battle the Brotherhood of Steel. You should look it up "Fallout Extreme"

This. I wouldn't mind a expansion where you go on a tour of duty with the brotherhood of steel to go thru alaska and russia to china to stop a nuclear launch or something. It could be like operation anchorage 2.0, but much better.

as everyone was saying i can see it as a dlc but not the hole game its too risky for them to make one buuuut we can make an beforemath dlc or retroprespective before the bomb fell or any attempeds of a squad trying to prevent to detonate it in China

It seems unlikely because a huge trend in all the fallout games is the 60s American lifestyle. That said a dlc could be possible. It would be cool to see the impact Amercia had (outside of the nuclear carnage) in some of the major cities like Beijing and Shanghai.
