So sometimes, randomly, when my armor pieces break, I cannot put on a spare leg piece or a arm piece, with full health, for whatever reason. It doesn't say that it's broken, just that I can't equip it right now.


Gee, thanks game. Guess I will run around with one side of my PA Frame naked, even tho I have 3 or 4 spare pieces in my inventory that take up over a hundred pounds.


So can anyone tell me what causes this? Why? Workaround?

I know this is a stupid question but are you actually wearing one of the big sets of power armor. You have to be in a suit of power armor to put on the pieces.

Duh. Of course I am wearing power armor.

Also, I just noticed that not only can I not put anything on my left arm, my left leg is off limits as well. WTF man. Going to get a new PA frame to see if that changes anything. But did anyone else experience something like this before?

Maybe you need to repair the Left leg and Left arm!

You need to equip it at a power armor station, and not from the inventory screen.

I found out what the problem is:

If you have two of one kind of armor piece, sometimes the game will confuse the two. So, for example, if one shielded left T45b Arm is in perfect condition, and the second one is broken, the game might get them confused. The game thinks you want to equip the broken one instead of the one in good condition, but since you are trying to equip a armor piece from the menu that has some health left, the game doesn't know what to do.

In other words, keep only one piece of each kind of armor, fellow wastelanders. Remember, you can always paint em a different color if you have several models and want to carry them with you.
