In my opinion The minuteman and institue is the best .
The institute has his bad and god sides but if you are the direktor/replace father you have the control. You can control what should hapen.
The minuteman are the good guys, they want to help the people. Remind me on the NCR ranger, with the point that are much better than the NCR. I think that is how the NCR should be, help, protect, rebild. And not steal other thear stuf like in vegas.
Ironsides crew, ok this guys are not major faction but they still rock. The whole ship has more patriotism than the country i live in. And there in nothing better as to shot BoS with a old cannon. "Who is your fancy technology now?" Sadly you have only one quest with them. I agree with pretty much everything you've said. Minutemen and Institute for the win. Skyrim belongs to the Nords Ad Victoriam-memers being called "rational" is a joke. But to each his own. Some people love the fact that they are separated from animals due to their high intelligence, some people don't. Some people want to create and to see how far can the humanity go in its technological advancement (and sadly, during these moments, they have to go against their principles and use violence against aggressive enemies like BoS), and I guess that some people wish to live in the dead end of evolution (and trust me, even in our reality, people would do much and much more to help their society evolve after the Great War. More than 200 years and they prefer to rot in the ruins of the lost world instead of doing anything). If Old World Blues was a nostalgia in its own way, then what people of Commonwealth do in the meanwhile can be called coma. But maybe that's one of the main problems of Fallout's setting itself. And should I judge the fictional humanity and fictional rules for its narrow-mindedness? I think not. But as long as there are characters and organizations who give me hope, there is hope. |
