| So we all know that mods will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One BUT will we be able to see them all on there? I don't think it will be possible to be able to run just any mod. For example, how do you put a mod like Groovatron (which needs so many different keys to do so many different functions) into a PS4 or Xbox One controller. This could lead to modders needing to make Console versions and PC versions of their mods which would be optional to them so will they even take the time to do so?
I guess my question is how will they make it so the console can be compatible with mods that add a lot of complexity to the game.
What type of mods do you think would be hard to see on consoles? What type would transfer over easily?
Should I even buy Fallout 4 on PS4 or should i just upgrade my PC to run Fallout 4? _________________ Check out my youtube channel and support me with a sub ----> https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMgUwyvq7nUEL1Bu7oMwItQ - My Achievements:

| I think it's been said that they won't allow any mods that uses assets from other games. I would think that would go to mods they host on Bethesda.net, which is where the consoles will get the mods.
Doesn't mean that we can't privately host those kinds of mods here on GUN for PC, though... _________________ |

| Consoles, by nature, won't be able to handle bigger mods, like graphical mods, or any mods that require a script extender. From there, mods will be pre-approved by Bethesda and anything containing assets from other games and nudity (not sure to what extent to they start considering something nude enough to omit). From there, it seems likely that console mods will mostly consist of lore friendly weapons and armor. I'm not positive about companions and quest, but those kinds of mods would require a script extender, I believe? Animations, too right? Pretty sure, but someone should certainly correct me if I'm wrong. Nevertheless, mods on consoles will be pretty limited compared to what we have on PC all things considered. I would think modders would have to go out of their way to make a mod more "console friendly", but by the looks of it, modders won't actually have to do that to a large extent since most mods that are available on pc can't/won't be available for consoles anyway. I have a feeling the new modding for consoles will operate similar to how Steam workshop does. Subscribe and then check off the mod in-game, or through whatever mod "app" they develop for the system. I'm pretty curious to see how the new system works though honestly. I got an xbox one copy with my pip-boy and I'm considering keeping it just to see what that whole system will be like. _________________ |

| Yeah, I'd imagine they'd have to be careful as to the content allowed on consoles. I know that they actually gave a date on the Xbox 1, but they weren't comfortable about when PS4 might see mods available. To be honest, any mods available on console is a big win, for the console owners that is. Maybe not so much for the companies that want to sell and armor/weapon pack for $4.99. They don't make you buy it, but it's a lot nicer to be able to freely experience the great modding community at no cost. I'll keep my modding to PC, but I have hope for the console users. _________________ |

| Not all mods will be on consoles (obviously) simply cause I think the fact is that Modders would have to upload it on bethesda fallout 4 or something than putting the steam workshop/nexus on for consoles. So They would in fact have to create something on their own. And Know the "PC master Race" There won't be much on consoles. _________________ |

| people seem to forget that most bethesa games on pc script extender use for more complex things so thats a no go
And i think people will favor pc modding as it is not as limited as console modding.
Are there not to many threads about fallout 4 ? |

| Why would a script extender not work on a console? Does it require that much more processing power? _________________ Get out of here stalker.

| Running a script extender on a console, since they both run on an x86 processor, isn't too big of a deal. I think the number of concurrently running scripts could quickly bog down the system, especially since the consoles are already struggling to maintain a constant 30 fps. As a SW Engineer, my mind has been twirling about how to get a generic Script Extender to work on all mediums and I think a simple wrapper class would do the trick, assuming you could get down deep enough to know how messages are being passed and at which rate. The real issue outside of performance, is convincing Microsoft and Sony to allow third-party SW to run on their machines. It just seems really unlikely is all since it introduces security issues. _________________ |

| Well I must say... Console modding will be coniderably much more limited. There might be possiblity of getting retextures (as long as in same resolution) Quest and companion mods won't be much, expansions will be possible like new pieces to map Overhauls could happen, weapons armors can happen as long as in good texture size (like 512x512? I don't really know console specs ). I'm going to play hell out of It on console so I can give my impressions. The 18+ stuff Will be hard BUT might be possible as they will probably just block it for 18+ accounts (and comone there is smexy time in Fallout ). (Consoles offered adult themes). It might be limited to well not going to something sick... or just something that can wrestle somebodies jimmies.I think there might be more stuff that is all about lore-friendliness... Well for now we wait for mods... Have an amazing game wish ya luck in your adventures people _________________ I do not consent
