| I have been debating on it rather hard. I can't really decide honestly. I want to do the male, if I choose the male I don't know if I would play as me first or if I would play as the persona of what I think the male protagonist would be. I am not sure if I explained that the exact way on paper as I see it in my brain. They are both an amazing choice. If I choose the female, I am not sure that I could truly understand the way she would or should feel. I want to be truly immersed into the experience. Do you think that the thought process's will be different corresponding to them both? One will think one way while the other thinks a different way? |

| First playthrough male just because I can relate to it more And that is what it seems like BGS wants with this feature, for you to get emotionally invested and be able to relate in some way |

| I'd choose male first. So I can try my best and not make my guy look like some goofy Mad Max wanna be. Then second time I play F4 I'll make a female character and hopefully that doesn't turn out looking like someone really ugly.. _________________ |

| Male generic that we see in all the FO4 trailers on my first play though. _________________ AAA Environment Artist & Modeler, US Army Combat Vet, Full Sail University Alumni |

| Female, because the female protagonist is going to have the same VA as Jack from Mass Effect. I'll try to make her look like Jack, too. And probably name her that too. |

| We haven't seen any footage of the female protagonist so that alone makes me just as interested to play as her. I'm gonna try to fit in both at some point though, but I think I will start my first playthrough "role playing" as a male/myself. And then second time, probably go an evil character with a Joker-type mindset, cause that's always fun and pick the female character from there by default. Things could always change when I'm stuck in that character creation though. _________________ |

| The first playtrought i will be role playing my self, taking actions that i would probably take if i was as fearless as i can be. Killing the bad and doing whats seems to be the best for the people in the wasteland. So the first playtrought will be a male character. |

| I'll choose male for myself as well. If the choice is there I always make my character a male. I do so because I follow the idea that you re-create yourself how you would be during that time line, or as good as possible.
I just find the idea weird to play as a woman then. I mean I'm a guy myself and I try to recreate a better version of me in another universe/timeline.
Sure there are awesome female protagonists too,but when I can I just prefer to choose for a male character. |

| After listening to all of these interviews the two voice actors did on Youtube, I'm having a hard time deciding because I really like them both. Brian's great, voiced Roland in Halo4 and 5, and then Courtney voiced Jack from Mass Effect, and she's really great too.
I'll probably just create my male character I have and use for my stories that I really like first, and then whenever I create a second play-through, I'll create a female character based on my male character's girlfriend from the story they are in. |

| I can't believe it's almost here either. 22 days. Off topic question but what is everyone going to the moment they step out the vault? Follow objective or just roam? |

| I always play as a male character and make it as similar to myself as possible. It's not that hard considering I'm always rocking a buzz cut and a light stubble. Also, I play the way I would react in that particular situation. Does anyone else do the same? _________________ |

| Usually I like to play as both genders, starting with a male and then a female. I even play them in rather different ways just so things aren't to boring. Like the male I play as more a commando type, using machine guns and such, whereas on a female I tend be more stealthy and tactful. Might actually reverse the order this time and start as a female first.
As for what I'll do immediately upon exiting the vault? Probably search the area for useful items, then make my way along the main quest, straying from it a bit every now and then but largely sticking to it until I reach what to me is the first major city type place, and then I'll just completely break off from the main quest and go do my own thing, eventually coming back to finish it after a good while. Like in F3 I followed the main quest to Rivet City then broke off to go questing and exploring, and in NV I followed it until I got to Vegas and met Mr. House, after that instead of going to comfront Benny, I just totally broke off from it and did my own thing. So yeah I'll probably stick with the main quest until I reach Boston, then go off and explore. |

| Great choice, I will go for a male character and I'll play as a commando type as well. As for exploration, I'll follow the story-line for a while, but I will probably spend most of my time building and developing a settlement more than anything. It just looks like such a fun and unique thing. I'll do side quests from time to time and explore. Just like in NV, I would normally complete two missions for my faction of choice and then just explore and do side quests. Also as I'm going to play as a commando, I'll invest a lot of time on creating and experimenting by modding/creating weapons with the wide selection of guns and attachments. I really can't wait for Fallout 4. |

| For my first playthrough, I always make a male character because I like to create them in my own image, and make all the in-game choices like I would make them. That way I usually get the ending that satisfies me the most.
On the following playthroughs I tend to roleplay more, make characters focusing on a certain skill, more evil characters, or something special like that, and go for the choices that the character in question would be satisfied with. _________________ A secret message to the chosen ones:- Spoiler:

| Male Character with a Guns Focused Build. I'd rather use Tried and True Guns rather than those New-Fangled Energy Weapons anyday. |

| I've always gone with male characters for my first play thru of the game, so I might try being a female protagonist, I didn't like how Bethesda made nearly all the raider armor sets for Females overly skimpy, I understand they're going for a Mad Max / Punk style, but I can't believe there aren't heavily armored raiders.. (Which is why I was excited when the Fallout 4 trailer showed a raider in power armor.)
