With what we've currently seen about Fallout 4's player settlements, and with it releasing in about a month, I was wondering if anybody has already started planning how and where they're going to build and run their settlement.

Personally, I'll probably try to build a settlement in one of those swampy/foggy areas, and see what I can do in making it a heavily fortified base, where most citizens have access to guns and combat gear. I would also love to build a central tower, surrounded by 2-3 story buildings, then 1 story homes.

Of course, most of this may not be available in the vanilla game, but I bet new features will be modded in when the tools are released.

I want to keep my first settlement/homebase as lowkey, small, and out in the wastelands as possible. Tree-houses in the sticks.

I'm actually not gonna bother building a base till I complete most of Fallout 4. I don't want crap settlement issues get in the way Of my missions.

I'm gonna wait until I finish the main story line and then I plan on making a Mad Max like base out in the wastes away from other civilizations. It will have a Gondor design with walls separating each section.

I am planning my settlement since it was announced base building will be in Fallout 4.Now I plan to do it somewhere in the snowy areas as the combat trailer showed an area that is coverd in snow but if there are no snow Area's im gonna do it in the starting town or somewhere where I find fit.First will be the main HQ with the buildings and defenses and all,after this im naming my town ''Beard City''
and im starting work on the Museum then the other parts.

I will be building a very small, very sturdy and well defended settlement. Depending on the provided options, I would like to make it as high tech as possible. Still, just big enough for myself, my companions and my robot butler(s). The rest of the wasteland can just take care of themselves.

Honestly I'm probably gonna find a nice looking cliff build a nice house and live there for the rest of my life. As I get further into the game I'll slowly upgrade it add some lights some turrets some new floors, and by the end of the game I'll have a 3-story mega complex filled with mementos of my journeys in the wasteland.  Oh, and of course it'll have a dog-house.

And I'll probably build a town too but it want be as good as my mega house.
