Hey everybody! How y'all doin' tonight?It's finally the time of year that we all start preparing for the spookiest of all holidays,
Halloween!
The staff of the GUNetwork thought that it would be best to kick off the scariest time of year with a new
Screenshot Contest!
The theme for this screenshot contest is, of course,
Halloween. So your screenshots need to have something to do with either
A) spooky, scary things or B) Other Halloween related things (Halloween parties, treats, costumes, etc).You're allowed to submit 5 screenshots maximum, and 3 minimum. This is to make sure that all participants have an even chance of winning awards!
The submission period is from the
1st of October to the 25th, with judging happening from the
25th to the 30th, and winners announced on the
31st.
Here's the full list of rules for the contest.
READ THESE OVER CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING!!!!- Da Rules:
1. Three to Five submissions max per user. If you post more than five screenshots or post multiples of the same screenshot you will be asked to remove your extra submissions and may gain negative rep.
2. Submissions must be related to spooky, scary things or the holiday of Halloween, whether it is in the background or is the main focus.
3. Submissions must be captured by the person submitting the screenshot. Don't post someone else's screenshot and expect to win. Violation of this rule will have their submission deleted and may recieve negative rep.
4. Submissions can be from any video game, of any genre, and of any graphical style, so long as it references halloween or things normally associated with that time of year. I.E. skeletons, demons, spooky scary creatures, treats, etc.
5. Mods are allowed, and always will be. This shouldn't even be a rule, but here it is anyway.
6. Graphical changes to the screenshot made in post are not allowed, such as using photoshop or Adobe after effects. INGAME filters and graphical changes ARE allowed, but if the judge panel feels that your image may have been edited in an editing software or something similar OUTSIDE of the game, we may remove your image pending a small investigation.
8. Please specify what game your screenshot came from. It will make our lives much easier, and probably prevent the judges and myself from giving ourselves concussions from smacking our foreheads in frustration.
9. When submitting a screenshot, do not specifically reference what category award you are trying to win. when the committee is choosing winners for the contest we will carefully consider every category each screenshot is eligible for, and assign awards accordingly.
10.Those that wish to change, swap out, or add newer additions into their previously submitted screenshots may do so as much as they like BEFORE the end of the submissions period.
11.Judges may at any time remove your screenshots if we believe you have broken any of the above rules. If you end up not being guilty of violating of one of the above rules, your image(s) will be re-added.

Each screenshot is eligible to win one of our category awards, similar to the Golden Globes or Oscars.

BEST IN SHOW - 5 WINNERS
As the rules state,
DO NOT post a screenshot saying "This one is for Best Female Character" or "Best Visual effects".
We want you to post screenshots based on making them
good in general, not to
shoot for a specific award.
The Best in Show category will have
5 winners and all "Best in Show" winners will be featured in the site gallery, and will also be added to the GUNetwork Facebook page. The
#1 screenshot of this category will have their winning screenshot turned into a banner to be added to the site rotation.
Also, if the
#1 winner of the screenshot contest hasn't been promoted yet, they will instantly be promoted to Colonial!
Other awards are still being decided upon, and will be announced once they have been confirmed. Don't worry, they're all gonna be awesome.
(Just to clarify, the "Best in Show" category winners may be chosen from other category award winners, or they might not be. It all depends on the quality of the image).
All winners will be decided by a Judge panel consisting of
Myself,
Dragbody,
FoVet20, and
Mattafex.
