| I saw a tech article online that gives you a lowdown on things that they do not tell you about Windows 10. After reading the article I was very glad I did not take advantage of Microsoft's offer to totally screw up my machine.
Try a google search for the article. |

| Since i have not tried Fallout 3 on Windows 10 personally yet i'm not sure if this will work but the fix for FO3 on Windows 8/8.1 is worth a try. Go to the community guides section for FO3 through steam and look for this; " Easiest and Quickest Guide to run Fallout 3 on windows 8", and follow the instructions there. NOTE; You don't have to login on GFWL or use the program in any way, you just need to have it installed on your computer. Let us know if this fix works EDIT; I just learned that the before mentioned fix seems like a dead end for many WIN 10 users, however since it seems to still work fine for some people you can try anyway but no guarantees. It could also be worth a try to completely uninstall the game and delete all the files (Back up your saves though) and do a fresh install again and then re-do the mentioned steps.

| You can try this if you want. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient
I hope it works. Someone on reddit said this helped them. As far as I know, Fallout 3 is not compatible with Windows 7 and up. There's always a way though! Nothing stops a gamer! Good luck and I hope you get it working! If I find anything else that might help you, I'll let you know. _________________ |

But I'm in the unfortunate 'does not work' boat now that I've upgraded to W10. I had issues when I tried running Fallout 3 on Windows 8.1 but I think my problem is that I was using the physical copy of plain ol' Fallout 3. I have a Mac, so I run my Windows 8.1 through Parallels and I don't think the disc is compatible with the program. I'm on the same boat as this poor soul. We can't get our Fallout 3 to work lol _________________ |

| Deleting my ENB's d3d9.dll seems to have fixed it, game runs perfectly now (mind you, its ugly as hell without an ENB). |

| I still recommend trying the Games For Windows Live client. Me personally, I'm not sure what effect that has, but most forums say it works for some odd reason. Sorry for my lack of knowledge on this. _________________ |

| If you are not able to get it operational after trying the above suggestions, There is another option. If you have FONV as well you can install TaleofTwoWastelands. It brings the FO3 content into FONV (as long as you have legal copies of both games). The mods for FONV work well in the capital wasteland and if there is a specific mod you want from FO3, you can check if its been converted for use or go through the conversion steps on the websote. In my current game I started in vault 101 and at about level 25 headed to the Mojave. Its really stable and so far I have had no issues at all.. (I have about 120 FONV nad TTW mods in my game..) _________________ - KCCO

Great idea actually. I totally forgot about TTW. I might actually try that myself. Guess I gotta buy the GOTY edition now lol. _________________ |

| I went ahead and installed G4WL, even with that installed my ENB causes immediate CTD (which it didn't do prior to Windows 10). Without the ENB's d3d9.dll, the game loads perfectly. Runs at around 277 FPS, in fact. o.o |

| I'm currently running retail Fallout 3 under Windows 10 just fine though I'm using SweetFX instead of ENB. Fallout 3 is installed in c:\Games\Fallout 3.
Steam is installed to c:\Steam. Was done to prevent UAE interference in Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
So far, the only things I had to do was 1) install the latest nVidia drivers and 2) install Direct X 9 Distribution. FO3 and FO:NV seem (I use that term loosely) to run a bit smoother than under Windows 7. _________________ i7 4790k @ 4Ghz, 4.4 Turbo Asus Z97-AR Custom Liquid Cooling Patriot 16 GB (4 x 8 GB) 2133 @ 11-11-11-27 eVGA GTX Titan X @ Stock Samsung EVO 1 TB SSD - O/S Samsung EVO 1 TB SSD - Storage Seasonic X-1250 Power Supply Thermaltake Core X9 Chassis Samsung UD590 3840 x 2160 Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Uninstall the Xbox app and ENB will work. The Xbox app works like an overlay (just like ENB does) and thus they conflict. _________________ Intel Core i7 6700k - 4.4GHz ASUS Z170 gaming pro motherboard Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000MHZ DDR4 RAM EVGA GTX 980 Classified 1.5GHz OC Samsung 840 pro 120gb SSD Samsung 840 EVO 500gb SSD Seagate 1tb HDD Corsair RM850 PSU 2x ASUS 24" 1080p monitor 1x DELL 27" 1440p monitor
