Hey guys i ne ed a tip:
I'm from Italy attending a computer science degree but becoming more band more interested in graphic design (and videogame real time graphics).
Is CS a good road to go? In my country there are no reliable 3d design degrees that provide a solid basis so i need to choose wisely.

One of the things with GD is that the designers will always be needed, an newspaper company for example won't go far without it. But I think one of the main things is that unless you really enjoy doing it there's no real point to even consider it.

While it might be an job it's at the same time really much an hobby, and if you can't enjoy it and having to force yourself to do it it's at the point where one should've given up. And unless you actually do have a lot of customers it is probably risky doing it full-time which leads back to it begin sort of an hobby.

Here's the point where I question myself if I understood the question or if I'm even reliable to answer, since I'm just 15 and I haven't even finished school myself.
But as I mentioned designers will always be needed so I think you should go for it.

Well...i keep hearing companies nowadays need sort of graduates for it nowadays...in my country computer science is pretty much the only one with a slight chance to work as a game dev , also (hopefully) as a graphic designer ( i mean if i can work on visuals like models, environments ecc ecc)..i am beginning as a hobby...i just need to know if i can turn it professional at some point with a CS degree on my back since i am growing a passion for it.
