| As I was browsing many topics today, I still haven't read about the Stalker game series. I'd like to know if there are some people here who played any of them, since they are kind of like Fallout and Metro 2033/Last Light I've only played Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl, which is the first of the trilogy, and I had an incredible immersive experience. I really felt like I was in that dark irradiated creepy area of the world where no one wants to be. At some part, I was a little bit too surprised each time I was discovering new strange and ugly mutant races. There was that time when I called a friend and asked him to stay with me while I was scouting that super dark tunnel mixed with a super ambient soundtrack. Basically, this is what I experienced while enjoying a Stalker game, don't know if it's the same for the two others, but I really recommend Shadow of Chernobyl if you like to play creepy post apocalyptic FPS/RPG games. Hope to see some impressions of the game _________________ |

| I actually just reinstalled my copy of Call of Pripyat last weekend. I love the STALKER series, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the modding scene is pretty great. While the A-Life system has its flaws, it does provide the chance for every trip out of a safe zone to be a memorable experience. I really hope we do someday see a modern sequel (not Survivarium or whatever its called).
Currently doing a Misery 2.1.1 + Les Miserable + The Armed Zone playthrough as Recon. Just made it to Pripyat proper tonight. The one thing I love about STALKER is that even though the zone is so alien and apocalyptic, at its core, that's what the exclusion zone looks like. I always get this weird surreal feeling crawling through an abandoned apartment, looking out to the streets below as light streams through the windows. It has a unique beauty. |

| Definitely the STALKER Games are masterpieces, I have only played Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat, the atmosphere at Pripyat or walking at forest specially at night with only your flashlight; haunts me. After playing these 2 games, the Chernobyl exclusion zone is somewhere I really like to be in real life, I read lots of articles and history in the internet regarding the Chernobyl disaster. I've also heard that there are also tours that go to CNPPEZ which are quite expensive because of the skill and professionalism of the tour leader, anyway seems like I went quite off-topic but...
The mutants ingame are quite frightening, and escaping a bloodsucker in the wasteland gives my heart a good beating and suddenly the bloodsucker comes out of it's cloak and wants to bites is quite fascinating.
The bad thing about the STALKER franchise is despite making very good games somehow they failed to make the second STALKER. Survarium which some consider the successor of STALKER isn't and I don't think will ever be as good as the old games. I wish one day they will team up again and finally make STALKER 2. |

| STALKER 2 would be like a dream come true. But as we know, there are no new informations about the game so a sequel is wery muh not happening in the near future. But its not like i dont want the next game, i would do anything for a Stalker 2 game.
Witout the new game, we have to relly on the old one to bring the scares. And they still can bring scares! I have finished the games numerous time and i always got jumpscared by sudden noises by the mutants. But i wanted something more.... Lost Alpha. One of the best mods ever for any game. If you played SOC, this will be a complately new experience, with new, bigger and more darker areas. New mutants and artefacts. Its one of the best things that i have ever played. Every one should try the mod. It an experience, unlike any other. |
