Hello GUNetwork community!
I decided to make a contest. In this contest you need to post a story, stories like myths and legends only. The winner will get a steam account with this games:
- Counter-Strike: Global Offensive -Counter-Strike: Source - Counter-Strike:
Myths legends don't need to be long, you need to make your own myth or a legend. Make it short and reasonable. Don't copy paste it from somewhere.
RULES:
1. Write down your own myth or a legend
2. Don't just copy paste it, write it with your own words
3. The myth or a legend should consist of more than 90 words
4. Needs to make sense
Here is one example of a story:
The Ettins
Eons ago ago a giant fell from the sky... The giant landed in the sea. Monsterous creatures began to drip from it's body, and they spreaded across the earth. Their biggest joy was to devour human beings... So they got the name "Ettins" (Big eaters). They became so large in numbers that they threatend to consume all life on earth. The gods went against the Ettins. After decades of battle they finally struck down the proto-ettin, and casted it into the abyss. It's down there... Neither dead or alive, waiting for a chance to return. It's calls can be heard in the darkest corners of the Earth. And many of the small Ettins are still here. You can find them lurking in the forests, ruins and caves...
Good luck!
Note: Winner will be drawn only after at least 6 user posted (users stories) in this thread.

It is told before this great land fell apart in a matter of seconds in the great mounts of fire this land was heaven. plenty of food and water not like to day when the only thing around here is blood and bones and ash in the wake. But the Irish Tribes keep moving forward and never looked back on their homeland. They are very few now these days. But when you met one give the Lad a green Scarf if you have one. Do that and you have earned yourself a very loyal friend for life. the scarf would remind them of home and would motivate them to keep breathing and leave a mark on this great Earth.
Thank you for reading have a nice day

Oh this sound like fun! I do have a question. How many words can we have max? 500 words would give a nice rounded story.

Memoirs of a Bystander
They say myths aren't real. I guess that's the point of the myth. Some crazy story nobody in their right mind would ever believe. Well hot dammit, do I gotta 'myth' for you. Except, well you see, this one isn't a myth.
This happened. Witnessed it with my own damn eyes. Back in the summer of '73. Was with my friend Troy North. He was always spewing this mythology crap, he studied it real hard in his schooling. He knew what he was talking about though. You could trivia him on anything and Troy would answer right. See, I always thought something was special about Troy. And apparently I wasn't the only one.
We were sitting in his backyard one day. We were being idiotic 17 year olds, drinking beer, smoking. Testing the waters a little bit you could say. And I'll you something right now: I haven't drank since. Half a can of beer won't get you hammered, but what was about to happen seemed like it. This was, oh I don't know, 5 hours after I took the sips? We were minding our own business and a group of masked people runs up trying to bag our heads. One of the scariest moments of my life! I had no idea what was going on. Then Troy pulls out this freaking sword out of thin air! Like he had an invisible locker or something. Those people ran off real quick.
After that Troy said, "There is no hiding you from it now, let's go." Troy was telling me the reason he knew all this mythology crap, is because he's apart of it! His dad was some Greek deity. I called bullshit and about walked out the house, then he said I was related to these Gods too! He said he could feel it in me, and he said that's why I never met my mother.
He took me to some camp where some horse guy explained it all to me. It made sense. At least, why my mother was gone. They said I needed to harness my true power. So that's what I did. I mean, what else would I do all summer? I trained.
After a summer of training me and Troy went on missions together. Eliminating bands of monsters, taking out small-time gods, nothing major. I wasn't going to do nothing to get noticed by the major-leaguers. I didn't want Hade's third cousin hunting me down or anything.
I'm not sure why, I guess for the reasons above, I stopped all that after about a year. I went to college, got a normal job, now I'm just a middle class guy in a small town making $60k a year. That's why I'm just a bystander. I have barely seen Troy the last decade, but I know he's not dead. He's doing major stuff. Stuff I don't have the balls to do. That summer was a crazy one. Heck, aint nothing seemed crazy to me since.

The Great One
There was many story's told of this fish from people that had seen it and some that hadn't even caught a mere glimpse of the damn thing.
It was a cold rainy night and I was on my way home from a days worth of fishing and then the engine had cut out on me out of the blue and the waves went calm and not a sound was to be herd as I was in the middle of the ocean by my self. I headed over to check the engine to see what happened and I saw it.
There was a large black shadow that had just swam underneath the boat I immediately ran back to the steering wheel and turned the key and over and over again the boat wouldn't start. I began to feel my side start vibrating and it was my phone. My wife was calling me to ask when I would be home for dinner since the rain had just stopped and it was dark I told her that I had no idea and was having problems with the boat and had to go.
It was then the fish had came up out of the water and smashed my boat in half. I was lucky because when I was sent flying off of the boat I had landed by a life jacket and a piece of the wreckage. I quickly put the life jacket on and climbed aboard the piece of wreckage and drifted hoping that someone would find me so far out from land.
The next morning I had awoke on my platform on land it was some island out in the middle of nowhere. I could see no land except for what I was on and thought to myself "Is this it? Is this how I'm really gonna die? on and island? No not yet I have a wife and a kid I can't give up" after my motivational thoughts I began working and building a shelter for how ever long I was going to stay here for. The next week past and I had gotten what I wanted to get done for the week I made a fire and a good home.
The next month passed and every day I would work building a boat to get off the hell hole of an island. The last day came of making tools I made my paddles and a spear for fishing or just in case I encountered the fish again. I made my tools and said to myself "I set out in the morning I'm coming home"
The morning came and I got the boat in the water climbed aboard and started paddling my way out but after fighting the waves it was smooth sailing or so I thought. While paddling I saw the same large black shadow as I did when I was fishing and thought "Not this time" so I dived into the water with spear in hand with hopes to kill this beast. When I was finally able to get close enough to it I finally realized how big he was. With spear in hand I started trying to stab the beast and after and hour of this I gave up and returned to my makeshift boat and started paddling again.
Another day went by and I saw it again but this time it was different I killed the damn thing. Luckily for some reason it was very light in and out of water so I put it aboard my boat and brought it with me. A few days passed and A fisherman found me and ask what that giant fish was and I asked him "You know the tale of the fish around theses parts everyone calls The Great One?" "Yeah I do so whats up with the fish?" "That's him" The look the man gave me looked like he had just seen a ghost.
When the man brought me back to land with the fish we had it confirmed that I had just killed the legend everyone talked about. "That son was the legend of your Grandpa but now only me and you know the true story"

The Punished
We all have hardships in life, some more than others. We all have experienced pain from loss, but normally we come to terms with it. When you don't however, and this loss leaves you empty and hopeless inside, that's when you might meet him. He most commonly appears after the death of a very close loved one, how long till he appears however, could be days, weeks, or months after the fact. It could be the more hopeless you feel after the loss or something that makes him appear sooner, I can't really say. What I do know for sure, is that he most commonly appears at the funeral. You may not notice him at first among all the distant relatives, but eventually you might spot a man you don't recognize at all. He's a thin, elderly gentlemen, with short grey hair and a thick mustache. He wears reflective aviator sunglasses, a black trench coat, a black cowboy hat, and black leather gloves. An off white shirt coupled with a black tie tied with an eldredge knot, and black shoes and trousers complete the ensemble. This man, is The Punished. No one else will seem to notice him, except you. If you stay mingling with relatives, chances are he won't approach, and just tip his hat to you and depart once the funeral is over. This is most likely due to you showing him that you will get through the tough times, as you are spending them with your family. If you approach him instead, or you are off alone distancing yourself from your relatives, he will walk up to you. He will introduce himself to you, a different name every time, Montgomery, Doe, Stewart, etc. The man will then engage in a conversation about your loss, and depending on how hopeless you are in your response, he may tip his hat and leave, or continue asking questions. If you appear to be as hopeless as he hopes you to be, he will eventually make the proposition he was there to ask. Your life, in exchange for being able to be with your lost loved one forever. As you can see, he only approaches the most hopeless individuals, as not many people would leave behind everyone else in their lives for the one. If you decline, once again, he tips his hat, and leaves, never to be seen again. If you accept however, he will remove his right glove, and hold up his hand to seal the deal with a handshake. As you shake his hand you will notice it's cold, but the longer the shake goes on it gets warmer and warmer, and you begin to feel colder and colder. You'll notice some of the wrinkles on his face slowly smoothing out before your very eyes. Eventually, your eyes will begin to dim, until he finally releases his grip. As you fall to the ground, the last thing you'll see is him tipping his hat, and walking away. Your family members will just see you drop, and think it was a heart attack, or that you died of a broken heart. A decade or so later, when another hopeless individual makes them self vulnerable at the loss of a loved one, The Punished will be there, ready to introduce himself. The name he uses as his own, will be yours.

Well, here's a story. Have you ever heard of the Deirdre? The thing is, they don't want you to. Their name represents sorrow, and that's what they feed off of. They feed off of your greatest misfortunes and use that energy to create more. Some people speculate over what their physical appearance looks like, some say they have seen the creature in the woods and it resembled a zombie-like grotesque creature with veins popping out of its rotten flesh. But, on the other hand some say they saw them in their dream as a dark orb, and on every account the orb absorbs some type of energy from them that makes them feel weak and trapped. Are these creatures responsible for our problems in life? We may never know, but for now it can be inferred from what happens after someone encounters a Deirdre... their life just starts to fall apart.
