| What are some of the more painful experiences you guys have had modding in order to make things work just right? Or hell, just work at all? For me, I would have to say the first would be for my sound replacer mod that I put up a little while back. I love making weapons and explosions and such sound authentic, but editing sound files in Audacity (after searching forever for them) and then changing and editing files in the GECK is one of the most mindbending and tedious tasks I've forced myself to endure, seconded by something much more recent. Nothing like the pain of individually moving a mag perfectly into the hand of a rig for an AK mag flick reload for about 50 or so frames because parenting sucks in Blender. What about you guys? _________________ |

| For me, the most memorable pain I've experienced modding was when Steam got corrupted and I reinstalled it. That's when I learned that uninstalling Steam takes all your games with it when it goes. The first two mods I ever worked on were forever lost that day. Having learned from that, I back up pretty much everything on an external daily, my data and game folders to a cloud drive every other day, and anything in my character's race or armor folders immediately to Dropbox. Dumb mistakes are the ones you make more than once. _________________ |

| For me it would have been my worldspace that I have, in fact all of the screwed up versions that are broken are still there in the mod as a reminder.
The first iteration was cool and all, almost finished it and then it corrupted, made sense though since it was my first attempt so I wasn't too mad.
The second iteration I am still a bit upset about though.. that one took longer than the first, looked a ton better than the third (a TON of more time too) but it ended up having a corruption when trying to generate textures, it was my favorite.. Wasn't until the third that I ended up learning how to backup worldspaces after a "Alpha" upload on the Nexus.
Third iteration managed to get finished with some minor setbacks time to time. I always backed this one up to prevent it, but every time I would generate textures on this one the same thing that happened to the second happened causing complete file corruption having to use the backup. The only other time it screwed up was when I was making a hub to transport between cells THAT decided to corrupt on its own also making me have to revert a character save back about 5 levels or so (remember, HARD SAVE prior to entering a test cell and don't use quicksave) and putting me back about a week. _________________ - Quotes:
