| Whenever I install an ENB it always causes my controls to lag. The game keeps going but if I hit a button it takes a second or two to actually respond. Is it because I only have laptop or is there something I have to do/install to my Fallout NV Thingamajig. <-- That is somehow a real word. Auto correct told me so. |

| ENB's seriously affect performance. Try turning down your video settings. Input lag is also caused by video performance. _________________ |

| Thats just the way things are man, i'm running on alienware and i still get some lag. I think its time for to upgrade my graphics but either way it drops the performance of your game a lot. _________________ Through the roads we walk, it is the lessons that make us Never Be Afraid

| Also, be sure to post your system specs. That could help us determine why rather quickly. And as Monster said, ENB's effect everyone, so you're not alone about lag. _________________ |

| Yeah, ENB puts a LOT of stress on GPU. Try turning off SMAA and shadow effects in the menu. (In case you didn't know, you open the menu by pressing SHIFT+ENTER.) There are many things to toy with but I'd recommend not messing with values unless you know what you're doing. Just turn things off & on to experiment. As a consolation, I have made a SweetFX setting that may be a decent alternative. I know it won't really compare with ENB but it's still a step up from vanilla. _________________ “The worst thing that could possibly happen to anybody would be to not be used for anything by anybody. | Yea, try out onowrouzi's SweetFX. It looks good and doesn't stress your system too much. _________________ |

| Try disabling DoF and ambient occlusion. That might give you like 20fps back. Usually in the install instructions the Author usually leaves advice on how to increase fps _________________ |

| Fallout is game that takes up a lot of resolution and it has to process a lot things as well. With enb installed it has to process that as well and that can stress out the resolution.

| As a person with a laptop I have never been able to install ENB due to lag but sometimes we need to sacrifice things to make our games run better I would recommend downloading a good texture pack and call it good. Unfortunately I think ENB requires a desk top's ability |

ENBs don't require desktops, it just depends on the power of the system. A laptop that has more power can run an ENB as good as or even better than a desktop. _________________ |

| Try disabling VSync, seems to give me a few extra fps sometimes. _________________ A man can only be beaten in two ways: if he quits, or if he dies. The same boiling water that softens potatoes, hardens eggs. It's all about what you're made of, not your circumstances. |

| There are a few mods that help in performance, i use Better Game Perfomance v5 and Performance of the Gods, now i can play with 40-60fps.

| Okay, thank you all. The biggest reason I have a problem with this is because I like to play as a sniper and it causes problems when I have a distant moving target. I do have Project Nevada so I guess I can just use Bullet Time. |

| Yeah ENBs always make my game lag too. I am almost certain my cpu can handle it but the lag makes it unplayable |

| @Cor Autem Impii if you have a fairly low spec pc or laptop in your case. A EMB will lag your game as normally an EMB intensifies the graphics of the game. May it be lighting, textures or shadows. EMBs i have noticed are hard on the processing speed of your computer that's why there is a delay in your button and executing the command. _________________ Moral of the story, don't snort RedBull... it's painful
