| Hello, i installed a UI mod and recently my MCM has been acting strage, at first it worked. not untll i installed a mod, now its saying all kidns of things, one of the things its saying now is,
"The Mod configuration cannot acess its menu files. either the files are missing, an error has occured or the Firewall/UAC is preventing acess
you may need to reinstall the MCM mod, or update your 32-bit Visual C++ 2010 redistributeable package" |

| Its sounding like several of the files were overwritten by one of the mods that were installed after. I'd remove it and then reinstall. If you are using MO try moving it further down the load list and then trying again. _________________ - KCCO

| Sorry.. What I meant was remove MCM and then reinstall it. If you use MO (Mod Organizer) you may be able to get around it by moving MCM to the bottom of the mod list on the left side of the screen. _________________ - KCCO

| What you need to do is install this mod - Code:
-
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/57174/? What it does is allow all ui mods to work together seamlessly. Really. The thing is, it doesn't add any major files when you install it. What happens is the file scans your game install to see if there are any ui mods installed, and then makes new ui files basedd on the ui mods you have installed. It fixed my issue. You should try it. _________________ - Can you figure it out?:

| @TheHulksCousin - Thanks for the info on the HUD mod. I am currently using the Unified HUD Project and was having a few minor issues with it. (Nothing affecting MCM though..) I'll have to check it out. _________________ - KCCO

| What happens is some mods have MCM files included that overwrite the current ones. Project Nevada is one such one (or at least in the past). When I installed it it would mess up the MCM. Chances are you were prompted with "overwrite" files and some of those were MCM files and you clicked yes when installing it (I assume using FOMM/NMM). The offending mods likely were the very last ones installed that have MCM entries. Try to think back to what you recently installed and try reinstalling it again this time being careful for anything that is prompting to overwrite the MCM menu. The other option is what TheHulksCousin stated. Use the mod linked to help manage these files. I have heard really good reviews of that mod and likley will use it myself when I resurrect my FNV install shortly. I hope that helps in some way _________________ |

| Things like this used to happen to me. But what I would usually do to fix it is to uninstall the ui mod and MCM reinstall MCM then the mod to let it overwrite MCM's files _________________ |

| I am having a similar issue, I have PN, Darnified UI,MCM, UIO, OHud, and Ohud darnified patch.. I followed Gophers instructions for installing, but when I hit 'esc' I get a msg that Darnifed UI was detected but is not applied to the start menu. I would ASSUME that I need to just uninstall and reinstall Darnified so it gets applied everywhere..but that is not how Gopher has in in his instructions for installation order, (also assuming I understood them correctly).
I don't want or mean to highjack your thread, I was about to post this when I saw you were having UI issues as well. |

I started with UIO, but after re-reading the description, Gopher said that he's not supporting it anymore, and that everyone should use OIO instead. Its confusing to me and has held me back a bit from actually starting my fresh play through after more than a year off and a fresh install, (lost all my mods when my HD took a dump on me). I'm not very mod savvy, or tech savvy for that matter; I just like to game...but I can follow instructions. Where it gets sticky is after being gone there are many new versions and patches and patches for patches now, and sifting through what is compatible with what and will cause conflicts, AND what is the better mod can be a little daunting. Long story short, I ignored part of Gophers instructions, and just deact-reactivated Darnified and the error is gone. Though I just had my 1st CTD since re-installing, it was while trading with a vender. Dunno if it's related or not. +1 to you Lukaboot for trying to help me out, I apprieciate it! |

| Unified Hud Project is a mod that does the same thing as UIO. It's just that Unified Hud isn't getting updated anymore and even the creator of unified hud doesn't recommend using it anymore, instead he suggests using UIO. _________________ - Can you figure it out?:
