Hey y'all, I was just looking for some advice on what kind of gaming laptop I can get for a good deal that can give me the best optimal performance for New Vegas and look great as well. With the release of big NV mods in the next couple months, I was hoping to get a better laptop with better performance, with a possibility of running some good ENBS.
Currently I am using an HP Pavillion x360 (I may release the specs later), and with many (many) performance mods and no anti aliasing or vsync get up to 40 fps (even with performance demanding mods such as EVE, FCO, small NMC pack, etc).
Any advice or help will be appreciated

Here are a few laptops I found on Newegg that should meet your budget.
I would lean towards MSI since I have heard nothing but good things about their laptops however that Lenovo does look enticing.

I have owned a Alienware m14x, early generation with a 555m and I currently own a Acer Aspire V7-482pg. I am not recomending either. The Alienware was and still is by what I have seen is overpriced on top of being large and clunky with a poor cooling system. The acer is rather compact for a 15" and while the 750m certainly isn't a gaming powerhouse I have been able to play most any game that i have wanted to. I used to play FONV on a laptop with a early i3 with an intel hd-4000 so anything with a dedicated gpu will be more than enough. My vote goes to the lenovo recomended earlier. I almost bought one instead of my acer.

With the Lenovo, based on the specs, what kind of performance would I expect with high end mods (Large textures, Full ENB, Ultra setting, etc). The Lenovo looks promising

Hahaha well ENBS are performance demanding, so say I want to run something from the range ENB 47.2 or ENB Oxide. Would I get a visually crisp image?

My current laptop uses a 970M and is able to run Fallout 4 and Skyrim on high at a consistent 60 FPS with the exception of a few occasional dips in FPS. It does struggle with ARMA 3 at around 45-47 FPS. Since the Lenovo has a 960M, I'm certain that it can run FNV with ENBs without a problem. I normally skip out on the ENBs just to save on performance though.

Hmm, alrighty great to know thankS for all the help everyone. Really want a more smoother experience, especially with the Frontier and Project Brazil coming out, so here's hoping I can upgrade by then.

If you plan on adding a lot of graphics mods and particularly a enb I would recommend getting something a 870m or 960m and up. While the game doesn't require a lot to run on high settings the performance hit with high res texture packs, enb and exta effects can be significant. On my laptop the processor being a low voltage model can become a bottleneck on some games and would likely be if I were to try a similar mod setup as to what I think you have in mind. I'll install it after work today and see what kind of performance I get as I haven't played it on my current acer.

my laptop has a GTX 960m 4GB and is able to run fallout 4 at around 40 to 55fps in certain areas or in high combat (lots of enemies) it goes to around 30 to 40 i play at ultra (kinda i have god rays on low lol) , 1920x1080 but with the current enb i use i get around a 5fps reduction in demanding areas,
i havent played much of nv on this laptop but last i checked i get 60 fps on ultra and 50 to 60 with a demanding enb, but i have not tested it with a heavy mod load or any that change the map,
if it helps i play skyrim at ultra with the seasons of skyrim ENB (used a lot and had only a few i couldnt run comfortably) im currently using the tropical skyrim overhaul too which is very demanding and i get 30 fps pretty steady anywhere i go but in demanding areas it can drop below to 26 or even 23 fps sometimes this is with 120+ mods active,
anyhow my laptop is the dell inspiron 7559 dont let the inspiron name fool you its basically the same machine as the last gen alien ware 15 and and i have yet to find a game i cant play, also it apparently uses the same CPU as the current alien ware laptops 6700HQ mine is the i7 version
i have been using laptops since i started pc gaming and my first laptop was strangely an inspiron and that thing was a monster not for power but for how much it could take it was a 2012 laptop and is apparently still working now after i sold it nearly 14 months ago, its screen was smashed at one stage and everything and it just kept on going playing games it was never meant to so id recommend a dell,
but things to watch for with the dell 7559,
the noise is noticeable but not that distracting but its worth it for the cooling system it uses i usually use headphones while gaming and even if im not it doesnt put me off but i can tolerate a lot lol
the lid on the 7559 is a bit flimsy not because it flexs (that doesnt bother me not like im playing with the lid all the time) but a week after i got the laptop my sisters dog headbutted the back of my laptop and dislodged the LCD cable but dell fixed it soon after as i was still in warranty lol
ill stop rambling and leave a video below,
apparently the laptop has gone up slightly in price but amazon and ebay sell them too just be careful who you buy from, the selling point of this laptop for me was the cooling system and the dell logo lol, but when i was shopping for a laptop i seen some with identical parts including a 17inch laptop which i seen on amazon which looked amazing but to be careful i stuck with the dell

Hahaha, the Dell Inspirion was the first choice I was considering, but after doing some research I kept reading a lot about it being a poor build and breaking only after a few months. While it's cheap for its performance, I worry that with that price I'm paying to own the laptop for no longer than 6~ months and that worries me. How long has it lasted yout
EDIT: Oh so around 4 years or so. Not bad, wow. I read about the screen "bleeding" in the background, does that destroy game experience?

sorry i wasnt very clear the 4 years was my dell inspiron that i had long ago not the 7559 i have it around 8 months now and the only issue i had was the lcd cable being knocked loose,
and the thing i hate most about laptop shopping is reading up on what problems people have had but keep in mind every laptop has its problem and without having a few laptops to compare yourself in person its hard to tell which laptop is more reliable,
if i where you id buy a desktop but if your like me and your living situation makes it difficult to own a desktop be sure you do a crap ton of research even though i only did research for 2 or 3 weeks before buying the 7559, i was looking at about 6 laptops including a alienware 17r3 which was on offer for 1300 in a local shop but one thing i noticed about all of the laptops while i was doing research was people where reporting the same errors for each system although worded differently,
and with the dell 7559 i have no issues with how the screen looks at all and my games look great if your wondering i play all my games on 1920x1080,
my laptop history isnt perfect but this laptop is the best i have used so far and tops a lot of desktops of people i know in person lol
but as i said before if at all possible opt to a desktop and get yourself a nice i5 and an 970 or 980 for a similar price maybe even money to spare
