I thought it was dumb how you can just lift this heavy suit of hulking power armour around and just put it on in the blink of an eye. So this is great.

I am SO on board with this change. If there's one thing I love, it's big stompy mechs (Pacific Rim is my jam). While this isn't THAT big and stompy, it's big and stompy enough that it actually feels like, y'know Powered Armor instead of just another metal suit to put on. I've always thought that F3/NV's Power Armor felt a bit.. lackluster. So I am super duper on board with this.

Me too I really like this change especially when you are going into the power armor and it closes round you like Iron Man and I also like the HUD once you are actually in the armor and of course JETPACKS!

I can see how the power armor should really work, how it was designed; instead of crippling your arm you cripple the armor arm, with worse aiming and (not sure) getting more damage. Strange that in the video you can actually "drive" a Power Armor like nothing... in Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas you always needed the proper training from the Brotherhood of Steel, now you just enter it and BOOM, let's rock n' roll? Seems strange...
Pardon in advance for the off-topic... but the slow-motion DeathClaw is F****NG AWESOME

Maybe the protagonist was a soldier or military technician before the war, which would explain his aptitude with so many firearms and varieties of power armor.

Or maybe you learn later in the game how to build one, with the proper building skill?; at the E3 gameplay you can see it because they were showing this new feature.

Pacific Rim is my jam too. Love that movie. The way power armored is portrayed in Fallout 4 makes is more then clothing; like how in Fallout 3 and New Vegas you could carry it and put in on in a instance. Now its a procedure and requires your attention to details like its power core, durability, and the like. I would rock a Gipsy Danger Power Armor all day. Stompy footsteps a +1!

Going with not sure cause I'm "Not sure" if you can travel everywhere in power armor like the past games.
It feels like you're jumping into your titan like in titianfall

If you check closely in the power armor HUD there is a CORE meter, maybe indicating the fact that you have to find batteries, or cores in this case, to run it.

I hope they keep older suits of the Power Armor that you carry around on your back and don't have to power, Because having to constantly find new sets of Duracells to run your body bucket of death sounds like a chore.

I think it will be difficult... if you can customize your own power armor that probably mean you can only have one... and it need cores :/ We'll see for this thing; then think positively... if the power armor need Duracells, someone sooner or later will release an unlimited core battery mod

One cool thing about the armour I find is that how powerful you become. I also that you will probably verse enemies in the same kind of power armour and they will be as powerful as you and so the power armoured enemies basically become like bosses.

I can't be to sure about it right now. But I'm excited to see how it works.

I absolutely love the way that Power Armour works in the demonstrations. I can feel the weight of it just from watching how the player moves in it, and how you clamber into it, and what seems to be a reliance on micro fusion cells(?) for actual power.

I'm really not hyped up for the jet-pack idea. Another discussion was going on about vehicles a while back, I really didn't like that neither.
I'll explain why. Normally when you're in a combat situation you fight back, or-, you avoid fighting all together by one, sneaking past an enemy, or two, stealth. Jet-packs will just allow you to jet-pack away from enemies, devaluing combat.
Meh. If the jet-packs are limited on how long you can use them, i'm game for them.
I also watched some gameplay found here where you get power armor at level two.
I sincerely hope that this is just a one off misson thing.
Finding the power armor at level two may have been just for demonstration purposes.

Actually from what I've seen this could be truer than you think. The leveling system seems to be similar to Skyrim (NPC wise) which isn't necessarily a bad thing but that does mean that there are going to be raider leaders and such whom will carry more advanced weapons and armor.

THIS!!! that scene reminded me of iron man. i think thats where they got their ideas from.

EDIT: speaking of iron man, i can totally see iron man mods coming out...especially with the jetpacks and all.
