| Hello, GUNners!
As some of you know, over the past months we've been beta-testing a PM Notification system for when a Staff Member edits your posts. Today, with the help of @Drusvak, we've had it perfected and I would like to inform you all of it!
The premise is simple:An automated script which sends a PM to a member's inbox whenever that member's post has been edited by a Staff Member.
Today it's become more stable and it's been added a new feature, which allows for the "Reason for editing" box to be included into the PM itself. SO!
We take this test example: As you can see, changes have been made in the message box, and logged in the "Reasons for Editing" box. ________________________________________ After hitting "SEND" we get a pop-up informing us that the Notification has been sent. ________________________________________ This shows what the post will look like after being edited. ________________________________________ This shows what the PM looks like. Remember, it's an automated PM including the link of the edited post and, from today, the "Reasons for Editing" ________________________________________ We expect all members to pay attention to these PMs and try to learn and improve from their mistakes/shortcoming. The staff is here to help, not to stifle or stomp on you. The staff seeks collaboration, not submission.
On this same note, I urge all staff members to remember to fill in that "Reasons for Editing" box from now on. We didn't do it often before because it didn't appear on the edited post most of the time, but since the script improvement today, it should be much more reliable and with it being included in the PM, it will be necessary, efficient and useful for everybody involved.
Thank you Drusvak for your awesome Script Magic! Thank you all for making this site an excellent community
I hope very few of you will have to receive this sort of Notification PMs from our staff (that means you'll have to respect the rules )
Have a nice day! Best regards, the DVAted one EDIT: If you're curious to test this new system, reply here and one of our staff members will edit your post Just 4 Fun |

Sweet...here you go: Ek hou van hierdie Staff Edit: <I like this> 4) No foreign languages This is an international site but the accepted language is English. Do not post in another language unless you have an exact translation in English at the same time in the same post. You are free to use online translators. Misspelling and grammar mistakes are okay as long as we understand your message.
Sidenote: no rule-breaking necessary for the display exercise any reply will be ok _________________ “Ignorance is curable, stupid is forever.” - Robert A. Heinlein

| Reminds me of what is done on another site I was staff on sept we manually wrote the the reason for edit in a separate "Reason for edit" box under the post. It's a phpBB board sooo yea it was standard there. EDIT: Oh and here is a bunch of smilies for someone to edit - Spoiler:
