Subject: Other places to find decent mods? Sun Aug 17, 2014 6:52 pm
I'm here,I'm at the Nexus, and I've visited Moddb, but I still see mods that are unavailable (at least so far) on either site. Any recommendations on other places to check? If this is in the wrong place, please move it where it belongs,I just thought this was probably the best place for it.
So. What are some good things you've found that I have not? I tend to gravitate towards replacers over retextures (weapons) and standalones for armor(unless it's amazing then retex or replacers are ok). New races are ALWAYS appreciated. Just looking for things I may have missed.

I'm not sure how much you've browsed the forums, but as a bass line the armor packs by drag body are legendary. There's also a decent modding community over on ModGames.com, and I always manage to find a few gems. Hope this helps.

Google is your best friend. That's how I found VGU. You can find many more mod sites if you have the patience to look for them.

You could always look at lsquall's DeviantArt FNV mods page...he has some very, very good armor and race mods available to D/L. Also check his YouTube channel under the name qqShepardpp as well for WIPs, and any updates or new mods he's testing out.
What kind of weapon mods are you looking for? Modern tactical stuff or lore friendly? I might have some suggestions for specific stuff to check out based on that.
Good luck!

There is a Russian site but most of the mods are from Nexus. Still, there are some cool meshes and textures from time to time. I use them to port them into one of my weapon pack mod.

No problem Chaosyn...happy to help.
Well, for tactical themed energy weapons this one is pretty awesome: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43506/? A lot of the weapons are ballistic based, but add energy weapon attachments and flamethrowers etc...others are energy based. All in all a very cool mod. VGU member XRhino did a cool review of it on his YouTube channel...take a look:
For large caliber ballistic weapons, I like the AS50 in this mod as well as the EBR...if you have the Dead Money DLC, you'll be able to use it. There's an English translation included in the download, you'll just have to register an account on the site: http://modgames.net/load/fallout_new_vegas/bronja/legacy_of_vaultreconsquad/94-1-0-6170
And of course, there's the good old Book of Earache: Vegas Edition... http://www.moddb.com/mods/book-of-earache-vegas-edition/downloads/book-of-earache-vegas-edition-v304 Lots of guns, lots of variety, and some cool quests/missions to upgrade your gear. It's a replacer pack with some very nice remodeled uniques. Certainly worth taking a look at.

Modgames.net is really good but it is in Russian so you will have to use a translator or something, also it is near impossible to make an account unless you have a Russian keyboard but there is a website with some logins you can use, I'll put the link down below. http://bugmenot.com/view/modgames.net
