| Hi guys,
So I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with the skin glitch; where the face color is a different color to the body.
Does anybody know what can cause this?
I've re-activated Archive Invalidation and set the bLoadFaceGenHeadEGTFiles=1, so they're the most common ways to deal with it.
However, mine is still doing it.
It's only doing it on NPC's added from the 'factions reloaded' mods, so it's not affecting everybody on my game
Any Suggestions?
And apologies if this has already come up 5276907406892's of times, which I'm sure it has!

| This is a glitch that has no fix (to my knowledge). _________________ Yeah, I spelled my name wrong. No longer, shall I be tormented by incorrect spelling. This is where I'd put my special access achievement. IF I HAD ONE!- My Babies (Achievements):

| A couple of thoughts spring to mind...anybody feel free to correct me on any of these points.
1) If you added the mods to a game in progress, this could be the cause. Start a new test game, and visit the added NPCs to see if they're head / body textures are mismatched. If not, there's your answer. My suggestion would be to start a new full game. Don't ever add or remove mods in mid-game for anything...just reduces the risk of corrupt saves, problems and stability.
2) If the test game still shows the same issues with mismatched textures, then the mod author did something to the NPCs to cause this. The only solution is to dig into every character that is added in the GECK and try to 'undo' the author's face gen.
3) This is probably the most likely and easiest to fix...you simply have a head texture that doesn't match the body. To test this, simply remove the male face & body textures from your textures folder...do this MANUALLY. Cycle archive invalidation, and start the game. If the default textures match up, then you know it's the mod textures that are fubar. Find another texture set to use and use all of them...diffuse, normal and subsurface scattering (.dds, _n.dds, _sk.dds). Don't mix and match, it never really turns out well.
3a) If you use Breeze's or Robbert's body replacers, just redownload the mod and MANUALLY install the textures to the correct folder, overwrite when asked. Cycle AI, and play the game.
4) If all else fails, Load Order! You may have a plugin that is conflicting with face gen for the added NPCs. Move the .esps to bottom of your load order, run the game and see if the problem persists.
5) If you use FCO or New Vegas Redesigned or both, this could also be an issue as Dracomies & Weijiesen added multiple custom face and body textures. Pick a set you like, and replace all of them with your prefered texture...copy/paste into the multiple folders. Cycle AI, play the game.
...Well, this is a lot of options. Why don't you post your load order...might help to zero in on a fix.
Of course, the easiest solution of all would be to remove the mods entirely and start a new game...just depends on how bothersome the mismatched textures are to you.
Good luck!

| You can try using ONE of these mods. It is recommended not to use both at the same time. - Fallout New Vegas Redesigned:
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39218/?
- Fallout Character Overhaul:
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54460/?
I suggest to try FCO first (the second one) because I believe it is the better one how ever I get texture problems with it such as Goodspring settlers are !. _________________ Check out my youtube channel and support me with a sub ----> https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMgUwyvq7nUEL1Bu7oMwItQ - My Achievements:

| Could you take some screenshots of the problem? Also, how many mods do you have active? Remember that New Vegas starts having problems after you have about 144 active mods, this problems include texture issues. _________________ |

| Ok, this is a glitch not caused by any mod, it is a glitch in the game. I have the console version of the game (and PC) and the console has the problem too. I have no mods on the console either. _________________ Yeah, I spelled my name wrong. No longer, shall I be tormented by incorrect spelling. This is where I'd put my special access achievement. | I have the two mods, Fallout New Vegas Redesigned 3/Fallout Character Overhaul and the skin glitch too. Maybe there is no solution. _________________ |

He stated that the problem only exists when he uses the Factions Reloaded mod. It does not occur anywhere else...hence, it's a problem with the mods. - CourierSeisener0 wrote:

No...that is incorrect. I don't have this so-called "glitch" on my PC version of the game, never have. Most people don't have this issue either, just like the OP stated...it occurs only to characters added by the Factions Reloaded mod. It comes down to how you install mods, the order in which you add them, what gets overwritten, and when you add them (mid-save games for example) can cause issues. If you have the same problem with your game, perhaps you should look into following some of my suggestions as well. I'm not trying to be a dick here, just being candid with you. - predatorwow wrote:

Again...I also use these mods. I don't have the issues with mismatching textures because I fixed it in my game. Copy/paste one set of textures for the males & females into all the customized individual folders. N~dles _________________ “Ignorance is curable, stupid is forever.” - Robert A. Heinlein |
