| What drew you to it? What lured you into this crazy world of dark humor and power armor?
For me, it started with a Blockbuster rental (for those that don't know what that is, it was a prehistoric Netflix where you rented these compact discs called dvds), and I got a copy of Fallout 3. Instantly fell in love. Never played an RPG before that, but Fo3 instantly hit it off for me, with the world building, emotion, weapons, characters, designs, etc
I immediately hopped onto the classics and began my rampant pursuit for all things Fallout. And without a doubt Fallout had gotten me through tough tines and drove me to seek that glimmer of hope in even the bleakest of times. _________________ "Ante up."

| Ooh, great topic. For me it was way back in 2009 when I would see my friend on Xbox Live constantly play Fallout 3. I ended up asking him about it and he strongly recommended it to me. I watched some gameplay and went out and bought a copy for the 360. (First copy I bought was faulty so I had to exchange it; worst luck). After that there went over 2000 hours of my time. I just loved everything about it; gameplay, story, lore, exploration, DLC, etc. Later on I got the PC version and entered the world of mods. (Enclave Commander was my old favorite). That PC was a Vista and the GT 9800 I had for it broke so I ended up buying FNV on the 360 too. It wasn't until about 2 years ago I build my own rig and only played Fallout on PC. |

| @"roflcopter117" YES! Youtube videos of a dream game was the biggest hint for my parents to get it for me. I had the original base Fallout, but that got stolen one day...fortunately, I bought the Fo3 Game of The Year Edition. Have over 500 hours logged into that.
As for New Vegas...it took a lot of warming up to. Fun, but was missing something. And then the DLCS. Never had I been invested into story and lore more after Lonesome Road. PErfect climax. Just, wonderful. _________________ "Ante up."

| I was still playing Oblivion in 2008 at my cousin's house... Suddenly, while we were struggling to kill Umbra and claim her sword, I hand the X-Box Controller to my cousin... While he was spamming a fireball spell on Umbra, I had a quick look at his games...
I saw Fallout 3, which apparently just came out... I saw that " By the developers of The Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion " was written on the back of the box ! I asked my cousin if it was as great as Oblivion and he told me that it was !
Several weeks later, I bought it at a very cheap price on a second-hand market ( I don't know how to say it in english XD It's like... Well, a market where a whole town gather to sell items they don't want anymore... )
And well, 8 years later, I still play it ! _________________ I've come here to chew bubblegum and mod Fallout ! And I'm all out of bubblegum ! My mods : - Fallout New Vegas:

| My story with Fallout goes back to when I got Oblivion. I remember having become the Holy Crusader my brother informs me that the company is making another game called Fallout 3. So I decide what the hell, and get the game. While I enjoyed the game a lot, I wasnt using it on my PC. I was unaware of the modding commuinity at this time, and continued to play the games (Oblivion, New Vegas, and Fallout 3) on console only. Until around 2008, when I got Oblivion on my Pc, and then began modding my game. I fell in love with oblivion and modding, but when I got Fallout NV that was when my love of everything fallout began. I had forgotten the brilliant story of NV and realised how much I loved the game. Also I began to see the faults in Fallout 3 (Plot issues mostly). Even now with Fallout 4 out, I keep finding myself back on the road to NV, hunting down Marko, helping out Sky, chilling with Niner, and Finding the new world with Ulysses. I use ttw as well which to me is a mod well worth downloading to anyone. You are the men that changed not one but two wastelands. My story of Fallout is one of love and great admiration. And thats the way it should be. |

| What a great question.
I was in Sainsburys and saw the BoS soldier on the cover, with "from the makers of oblivion" in the corner.
Oblivion was my favourite game at the time, and the apocalyptic feel convinced me to buy it
I've been obsessed with Fallout 3 and New Vegas ever since _________________ - My YouTube - |

| Well, the game was on sale for $5. I kid, I kid. I mean, it was, but I'd also heard great things and was planning to at least try it out. Got into the main menu with that awesome music aaaand the game crashed. Honestly, that great music is what kept me trying to fix my install through the next week of crashing before I could actually play. The thing that absolutely sealed the deal was finding out that Liam Neeson was my dad. I've always been a ridiculous completionist and take every sidequest before the main; this was the first time I went straight for the main story. I really wanted to save Liam Neeson |

| My personal story with Fallout is back when I used to play on a Xbox 360, my friend had Fallout 3 but didnt really play it.
He gave it to me for free and then I got hooked on it spending at least 200 hours on it. When I heard of New Vegas I went straight out to buy it for the 360 at GameStop and it was the game that got me interested in PC gaming in the first place as I ended up watching modded playthroughs of the game in Alchestbreach, Gopher and NCRvet's channels. I only managed to get into PC gaming since last year but as a result of Fallout 3 and New Vegas I found this site so those two games hold special places in my heart. _________________ |

| I remember seing my cousin play it on his ps3, He was at jacobstown and remember him talking to the ghoul doctor (forgot her name) and i was in such disgust. I was like kill it, kill it with fire. He of course calmed me down and after that i would play the game on his ps3 every so often. Now I have over 500 hours on the pc version and still play it to this day. |

| I don't remember where I got them, but I played Fallout 2 in early 2000's I think. I was hooked. I loved the story, the concept about the vaults, the locations, the creatures. Then I got into the modding that was going on for it over at No Mutants Allowed, which is still up today. I was so hooked with that game that I even went as far as drawing out a complete 6 page 6 level vault layout. Each floor had a purpose, I had thought out just about everything. Food, Water, Security, Radiation. I still have those pages and will probably never throw them away.
I played Fallout 1 as well after being hooked on Fallout 2 and loved that game just as much. I even tried to mod the Fallout 1 Mariposa into the Fallout 2 Mariposa, kind of like the Chosen One found it and restored it. I even almost fully completed the changing the Gecko Powerplant to make it look modern using the BOS tilesets.
Fallout Tactics was a lot of fun too. Once again I did some modding there and usually had extra squads in environment suits running around and had extra vehicles. Naturally I added way more enemies in to compensate. What I loved most about the Fallout Tactics was the option for real time combat. I had some truly epic large battles.
So yeah that's how I got into Fallout. |

| All my friends played the earlier games, but I did not feel I could like the tone of the games. I like really dark games and the other ones kind of seemed to light in tone. Although it might of just been me at the time. It was until after I got out of the military is when I decided to pick up fallout 4 when it was supposed to come out. I was a fan of the gameplay and to be honest the vault suit.
I did play lots of rpgs in my life like: Chrono Trigger, The Witcher series, Final Fantasy series, etc. I am glad to have experienced playing great games that fulfilled my need of great adventures and story.
I am a person that is fascinated by history and unfortunately that also brings the bad things into it as well. Rape, destruction, slavery are all things that happened and although wrong they were done frequently in the past. Even now we are still the same. I wanted that explored in a game and heck I will never get that in a game. I do enjoy light hearted games, but when it comes to post apocalyptic games or historical games I am very picky. I guess I couldn't get into the series earlier, because it wasn't dark enough for a post apocalyptic game. Although I did hear the first two were and I will give them a chance.
Ehh sorry I am rambling again. _________________ |

| @"ZombieRedNeck" Thing is I was on console far before I jumped onto a PC, modding is still fairly new to me (in tone and feeling), so that love for Fallout came from a very vanilla perspective haha.
@"Lucianhector" I never played the elder scrolls series before Skyrim, though at the time I was playing Fo3, my cousin was still playing Oblivion (or Morrowind I believe, can't remember).
@"AnsaarTGB" Isnt that always the truth when youre young? Haha, same happened with me, awesome armor meant "had to be cool, probably Star Wars like."
@"Kakashi Hatake" Alchestbreach is the man! Funny, but a pleasant kind of ridiculousness.
@"FoVet420" Thing is, I feel like I slightly recall getting Fallout 2 at a swap meet with my grandfatger, but I never managed to get the game going, and being all doomed out by wrll DOOM at the time, I didn't jump into it then. Looling at it now, Fo2 was extremely fun.
@"Ironhide11183" Hahaha I liked Calamity, kinda wish there were stronger reactions with ghouls. Raul Tejada was a pretty relative character in my opinion.
@"Evmeister" Had always wanted to attempt Fallout Tactics. How is it as a whole?
@"Crash244" While the overwhelmingly despairing factor is something Fallout may seem to gloss over, (when the horrifying details of the world often say otherwise), I think that obliviousness of each protagonist contributes to that worldview.

| I got into Fallout by a friend's recommendation. I played Skyrim, which my first Bethesda game, and I really liked Skyrim. My friend who really likes Fallout always talked about it on the Xbox chat and so i kinda wondered how this game was. He said I would probably like it because I liked Skyrim and since I like guns. He let me borrow his New Vegas and to be honest i didn't like it at first and diddn't play it for a couple weeks. Then I thought, eh, ill give it another try. Gave it another try, and eventually got the hang of it and explored more of the world and started to like it. Later on I got Fallout 3 after I got tired of New Vegas but never finished Fallout 3. I bought New Vegas year later on my laptop and got into modding, then Fallout 3 was gifted to me for Steam. Then now, here I am just waiting to get 4. |

| At first I was more fan of TES with Oblivion than I ever was with Fallout 3. I actually disliked the game cause it was supposed to be new and better than Oblivion, but still ran on the same engine.
My first real contact with it was when I watched my cousin play it when I was visiting Norway. He was right at the water purifier and there I witnessed the ending where you had to die. Which of course I thought was just a shitty ending (this being prior to Broken Steel I believe.) thus my dislike for the game remained.
Years later I got S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl from my cousin who didn't like it, which kinda triggered my interest into Post Apocalyptic games. Another few years later I was in my Post Apocalyptic mood, started looking up Fallout 3 trailers and wanted that game badly.
I managed to do some trading on the steam forums to obtain a copy. I wasn't new to modding at the time, so of course I instantly started modding the shit out of it, resulting in it's failure to comply with me. Seeing as the game was unstable as fuck, my interest in the game dropped and I left it sitting in my library for a long time.
On a later time I managed to acquire New Vegas through the same methods and that's when my true journey with Fallout began. I wouldn't say it was the greatest game I've played, but I enjoyed it a lot and got hooked. After finishing NV I still enjoyed wandering the mojave, yet I wished to continue with fallout 3.
Then I was introduced to TTW and after the whole modding hassle I finally could enjoy Fallout 3 as I wanted. The atmosphere wasn't bad in Fallout 3 it was rather great, but the game did feel more boxed in and "empty" compared to NV in my opinion. Because of TTW I managed to play through FO3 , Broken Steel and Mothership Zeta before heading off to the Mojave.
I continued my journey half way through to meeting with Mr House again, where I tried to play the DLC's, sadly like with The Pitt, most of them didn't work and was only able to play Sierra Madre. Which I really loved and sometimes hated, because Willow kept attracting the npc's when I told her to stay the fuck behind.
I tried many times to get the DLC's working but never managed to do it. I decided to throw out TTW so I could start again with my first mod downloaded from this community. Yet the game was against me and failed to cooperate. Seeing as Fallout 4 was at the doorstep I haven't bother, I had pre-ordered it and was eagerly awaiting to play it.
I wouldn't say Fallout 4 is an amazing game, but it has potential to become something more thanks to the modding community. I only got the Season Pass for 27 bucks the other day so I can't judge on anything of it.
That summarizes my history with Fallout, one I don't regret getting involved too. |

| I remember buying Fallout (the original game) way back in the day of CRT monitors and massive 500 MB of hard drives. I saw it at Sears of all places. Sears was still a major player back then. So I read the back and it sounded like fun. It was one of the best and funniest games I had ever played. From then on I was hooked on the series. I was disappointed when Fallout kinda disappeared after tactics. Yes there was Brotherhood. But it was a bastardization of the other Fallout games on a console. Back then consoles couldn't do anywhere near as much as they can do now. They are still not PC's tho. Anyway when I heard of a new Fallout game coming out in 2008 or something I was over joyed. I was really on board when I read that it was an FPS/RPG. I was into FPS's at the time. When Fallout 3 did come out I was rehooked. Not as funny as the original but a good story. I was really against DLC at the time as well but 3's DLC helped change my mind. I'm not one of those "this OR that" people. So I liked NV as much as 3. I really like 4 too. Now I'm kinda wanting to see if the whole New Orleans thing is true. This would be cool. |
