Working on my own game Empty
PostSubject: Working on my own game   Working on my own game EmptyTue Mar 31, 2015 4:03 pm

Hi everyone, I'd like to share a few 3D assets I made for a game I'm working on on my own.
The game will be an open world/RPG, kinda elder scrolls like(also is my main inspiration) TongueTril
I'm working with Unity, Maya and Krita mainly.

Tileable floor for the ruins:

Ruins with tileable wall models(still working on):

And here's what I have now of the game itself, I worked on it for 1 or 2 months now, so it's still in the very early stages of development:

Very impressive, I look forward to seeing more of this. I cant imagine the complexity of making something like this.

Fantastic work man. It's incredible what you've accomplished since you've done more than most early acess devs in such a short span of time.

Thanks all! I must say that I didn't do everything on my own, I haven't been coding for a long time so I sometimes ask my teacher for help (I'm still in school/university). And I have asked some of my classmates to make 3D models for me, they created the fireplace, huts and wall.
The player and the enemies are still placeholders that I got from the internet.

And yeah it can be frustrating sometimes, I can be too ambitious and get headaches as well TongueTril

Keep at it!

Hope you are using tons of tutorials and forums out there.
All kinds of things can be achieved in Unity with nothing more than a nudge in the right direction from a google search Smile

Most importantly you are not only enjoying this, but learning from it.

Thank you! And yeah I learned a lot more about Unity and programming already while working on this project, google helped a lot with that as well TongueTril

Here's a preview of what the ruins look like ingame, still have to create the corridors and halls for the inside, and it needs some more loose broken stones lying on the outside.

@baukjespirit pretty cool looking so far, You've inspired me to look up information on programs and search out tutorials on game making. This could be stellar down the line, keep at the good work! :0kay:

@phooey,
Thanks! Haven't seen the movie, but I can see why it reminds you of it. This monster doesn't need sacrifices though, they just attack you on sight TongueTril

@Sentience,
Thank you, and nice! Making games is cool, you can make your ideas come to life Smile

- - -

Update here, made an environment/mood concept yesterday Smile And made some progress with the programming side too. In the game you will be able to collect souls of enemies and after that you will be able to shapeshift in them, which will give you unique abilities, attack bonuses and such. So now I've added the base of the shapeshifting feature.
Here's the concept I made:
Spoiler:

I did make another concept some time ago, not sure if I posted it here. But here it is, the guy on the wolf is the main character.
