Hey guys!
I am in need of some help, I want to put an armor into fallout new vegas. However, I have no idea on what I am doing, I have the 3d model of it (3ds max) and etc but don't know how to rig it and so on and so fourth And any help will be appreciated

Your gonna need the Geck, Nifskope as well.

But that is the old school method which I still think is best for you to avoid.

However, I have not used the new school method yet so I can't give you any pointers.

I heard it is very easy to use. So I would look into that. Lover's Lab is more of a skyrim modding site.

I'm not sure how 3dsMax works, but if it doesn't have the plugin support for nif files, you'll need it to export your model as a nif. You'll need Nifskope to add the texture properties and shaders and so forth. GECK to include the armor into it as an object and then add it to a container.  Make sure to include a armor from repair list, or you will not be able to repair it yourself or have it repaired. And also make sure to have a go.nif for it or use one from one of the vanilla armors or else if you drop it, it's gone.

You can also choose not to use the GECK to add the armor to the game and just use FO3/FNV Edit. If you want to place the armor in an already existing container you can just use the edit program, if you want to place the armor in the world space then you will need the GECK. I typically use the GECK to lay the ground work for a mod and then edit the location of armor files with FNV edit. If I try to add some armors with the GECK, it can crash so I just got into the habit of using FNV edit to do alot of the modding process.

There's little point discussing the points of using GECK and FNVEdit when the armour's not even rigged.
