Every time I hit F12 for a screenshot of my character she turns transparent for about five seconds then returns back to normal until I take another shot and so on. Any fix to this or cause of the problem?

Try a different screenshot keybind, sounds like F12 might conflict with something.  Personally I use the printscreen key.

Personally I use FRAPS to get all my screenshots and videos. The basic version is free, has universal hotkeys for both videos and screenshots, and its useful because some games don't have an in-game screenshot key (which is dumb).

If that's the program that also monitors fps, then I have that. I'll check it out once I'm off work. Thanks for the response.

Try pressing print screen key, FNV has this function built in. ENB usually has it bound to that key too.

The steam overlay is what causes that, and until the image in the corner goes away, you will have this issue. As Roy said, print screen works just fine.

As tru3th said, it's causing by Steam and I can confirm that.

I've never got that problem with the Steam screenshots. What I am getting is the overlay not even showing for F3, for some reason or another, so I have to use Overwolf for screenshots in that game.

Steam screenshots aren't the problem, Steam overlay is, every time the overlay pops up, or showing my friends started playing something, things start to get transparent until the overlay disappears. Or if that's the case for only a specific amount of people.

Like tesvixen said i use fraps for my screenshots and they turn out well, also you get a fps counter to boot with it so why not? Pressing print screen is also a fine choice, maybe the screenshot will have been cropped oddly but it still gets the job done.

It happens to me when i have an active enb. But the same screenshot right after and it reverts to normal.

Its an enb thing happens randomly to me also

As a general rule of thumb, for Fallout 3 & NV it's better to use a third-party program like FRAPS when taking screenshots.

I personally don't like the steam overlay. too buggy to use on a lot of my games, and on some can cause CTD due to antivirus thinking it's a virus or malware.

Yeah ENB is usually buggy with Steam. Trying using programs such as FRAPs.
