I'll try this again.
To be blunt, I'm here for the mods. I find that those found on the Nexus don't compare to some of the things that can be found here. NcrVet is the reason that I found this site. All credit for me joining should be given to him.
I don't upload screenshots of F:NV to the Nexus (you can check my profile which is GamerRaizen as well) and I won't leak mods, simply because it requires entirely too much effort and would mean that I'd no longer have access to the content here.
I do believe in giving credit where it is due, but I will not feign admiration in order to butter up the admins so that I'll be able to download mods. If like something, I will gladly give kudos to the mod author and if I don't then I won't.
I know about modding and understand the amount of work that goes into the process, therefore I will never steal work and claim it as my own.

Welcome
What do you mean by "again"? Have we ran into each other before? *searching* Oh! You've made this same topic before, and it went unnoticed. I do apologize for that. We try to welcome everybody. It's curious you'd go without replies twice, so I'll make one here.
I admire the bluntness, as long as it acknowledges its potential limits of good manners.
ncrvet will get his credit, sure, if it turns out your addition to our community is a fortunate one
We're glad you're against leaking/stealing mods, we appreciate that. We don't ask for feigned admiration here, so it wouldn't be welcomed anyway.
We also believe in giving credit where it is due I admire and agree that one shouldn't "butter up" to people to get ahead. Ass kissing is not something we need around here, or condone.
However, understanding the rules and respecting them is common sense, and we expect that much, as well as decent manners, from our users Batman agrees!
All of the rules we have were settled by consensus and vote. Should any problems with any of the rules arise, we'll discuss them openly and put it to another vote. That's what the site Suggestions & Feedback section is for.
We also expect members to be active. Should they log in to see the latest releases, they may well spare a moment or two to create a post or two. I reckon only fools would find this unreasonable.
Another user input we encourage is Feedback. Feedback comes in two acceptable forms: - positive support - when the player doesn't want to go into detail of why he likes something, and just wishes to "give kudos" as you plainly put it, only to mods they find worthy of their praise. - constructive criticism, which can encompass both positive and negative aspects of a mod, but in a manner that encourages and helps the author to improve and to continue modding.
All of this is to ensure a decent environment for our community and a continuous productivity and motivation for our modders. Said motivation would spur from shown interest into the author's work and efforts and from honest, civilized connectivity between author and players.
Lazy people might interpret that as ass-kissing but to us it's human connection, and if it's not honest, it's inhuman; honest critique is encouraged and welcomed, as long as it's well argumented.
So you see, there's no conspiracy. Simply a mutual effort to ensure a good future to our mutual modding experiences
With that out of the way, I'm sure we'll get along great You have my respect.

It's rare to see an introduction post not get the proper "welcoming" from anyone. Sorry for missing yours but it's not because we don't care about you.
Welcome to VGU man. I understand that most people like you do come here for the mods. A lot of these fresh recruits that join our forums, end up staying and being part of the community. VGU here puts a lot of "emphasis" on community which I'm sure you will see.
It's nice to see that you understand that leaking mods isn't really right. Some people don't see it as a big deal and that's what the biggest problem is. Mod leaking actually makes mod authors to stop sharing their content... sometimes they even just drop modding. We try to make sure our forums is the safest haven as it can be for our modders. This is where people in this community respects the mod author's hard work. Some of the mods here, are from years of hard work... so the least anyone can do is appreciate it and not leak it.
And people always wonder why anyone would host content in VGU... mainly because we have an approval process which leads to limited mod access. Sometimes, modders don't care the amount of endorsements, the download counts, or pages views. It's all about respecting the mod author's work. We strive hard to protect their work.
You don't need to butter up to us at all. We take count how the community perceives you as well. The rep system is decent indicator on where you stand in the forums. Excessive negative rep may mean that a lot of the posts you made were not favorable viewed by the community... or maybe someone has a grudge on you :p
Anyways if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Have a wonderful day mate

Hey there, Welcome to VGU!
Well, that's what the tagline is, isn't it, come for the mods? Stay for the community? Sorry about nobody welcoming you last post; it was a mistake, don't feel like you're not welcome! VGU is a great place, and with what you said in your post you shouldn't have any problems here. You'll probably even find a few people with like-minded interests too, easily if you use the chat.
Anyways, Welcome to VGU

Welcome to VGU. I like your bluntness, it's something that people tend to lack when it is needed. I'm sure you will like it here, possibly better than the Nexus since the restrictions on here are more free. Hope to see you around the forums!

Welcome and be well See you around!
First off, thank you for the reply. I can understand that with the high volume of posts in this section of the forums, that I'd be buried.
I respect that this is a forum of mod makers sharing their work within a close nit community of people who will appreciate the amount of effort that goes into mod making. I constantly see amazing mods on the Nexus go unnoticed and end up abandoned because of the lack of appreciation and attention shown to the authors.
I can honestly see myself as being part of the community as long as we remain one that shares a respect for the amount of effort and time that is put into modding. You will not have any problems out of me.
I look forward to seeing you around the forums

Thank you for your reply. I can see that this is a very active section of the forums, so it's understandable that I'd be buried under other posts.
I can understand why people choose to post their mods here. Places like the nexus don't care about their authors. I've seen mods with so much potential be abandoned due to lack of attention or assistance in things like texturing and such.
It's refreshing to see a community that cares about the mod makers and as long as it remains this way, I'm definitely here to stay.
See you around

No need for apologies, there seems to be a lot of people joining on a regular basis so it's understandable that I'd be buried.
I can see that this a community that appreciates the mod makers and as long as it stays that way..I'll be around

Not too many people can appreciate when I'm blunt lol. I do enjoy these forums more so than the Nexus because this community is alive and it's a place that appreciates the work and dedication that goes in to modding.
See you around the forums!

I was more or less like you so it's not like I can't understand, and I too think that your bold statements are actually quite praiseworthy. That said, welcome to VGU, you seem like a reasonable individual so I won't bother saying the obvious. Oh, and Kaneki Ken. Kudos for that too.

Nice of you to notice Kaneki. Currently downloading the most recent Tokyo Ghoul Root A episode as I type this.
I look forward to interacting with you around the forums.

After reading this introduction, I feel inclined to second the "NcrVet brought me here."
I joined because of his sincerely underrated mod reviews.

His channel is underrated in general. He provides quality videos and doesn't receive the recognition he deserves.
