Hello there. I'm not sure I approve of the hoop-jumping policy, but I do at least understand why it exists. I'm sure I can go and have a chat with people int he general game discussions for a while. - can't be too onerous. I am pretty sure my screenshots won't be up to much though. That's the drawback of a 6 yr old computer, much as I love it.
So, about me: I am a long-time gamer who started out on macs long before they were cool (Marathon, Myth, Escape Velocity) and I've always been drawn to moddable RPGs with a good story. The best of those being Dragon Age Origins, but I do like the Bethesda games too - they just tend to suck at writing characters and voice acting. Now, if Bethesda and Bioware were to make a game together.... oh I wish
The game I played the longest was Neverwinter Nights (specifically the Untold Tales of Tolkien server), and the one I play teh msot these days is Guns of Icarus online, which at 600+ hours played and about $4 spent, is pretty much the best value for money I've ever got out of a game. Outstanding team game.
Other than that, I occasionally make mods for myself - usually because it is so hard to make a good looking character in most RPGs - and I like to do digital paintings, whether of my own RPG characters or characters from games I love. I've uploaded a couple on deviantart (Ordoveci). Mostly of the Walking Dead's Clementine and Lee (outstanding characters).
So yes, hello.

Hello there and welcome. You'll find awesome people here so the time that it takes for a promotion will fly. It really is true the "Come for the mods, stay for the community!"
Hi there, you make me feel so damn young and I don't know if I should be too happy about it, hah. Anyways, welcome to VGU, hope you'll stick with us and have fun. I wouldn't worry so much about the promotion thing, if that's what you're referring to. As others stated, promotions do fly, I can vouch for that. And if this place manages to hook you like it happened with me, even more so. Catch ya around.

Thanks for the welcome, people. You have made it less awkward than I expected.

Hah, well if you really want to feel young, the first games I played were an old space invaders arcade machine my friend had in his porch that electrocuted you every time you tried to move left (that wasn't a feature, it was just faulty), and games like Knights and The Mummy's Tomb that came on cassette tapes for the Amstrad. I have to admit though I was about four and those things were all quite a lot older than me. Still, I never saw a computer with a mouse until primary school, and I didin't get a mobile phone until I was about 13, so I guess I am pretty ancient (27).
