Hello everyone one of the things that annoys me the most about fallout is the unrealistic AI. I mean who would stay out in the open when getting fired upon and who would go running strait at the enemy when they have a rifle? I find that the AI in fallout is just too unrealistic for me so I would like to know if there are any mods to improve it. Also I would like to know your thoughts on the AI hence this post.

I thought about this yesterday too,the AI is really bad, like if they have a sniper rifle there is a 70% chance that they will hit you,it doesnt matter how good your cover is.
In Fallout 3 this was difrent FWE changed this,I still dont know why project nevada didnt add something like the AI changes from FWE

Combat AI is horrible in Fallout I agree, I haven't tried that mod out yet because I heard it causes a lot of problems. It would be a dream come true if somehow the AI can be improved. Skyrim AI is also pretty bad.

I have no idea if there is any other mod other than that one, I assume writing an AI must be hard as hell.

I understand your issue, and I haven't seen any great AI mods for Fallout. It seems like they're all on Skyrim. I use Realistic Weapon Damage to counter that issue, so any bad choice made by player or npc results in almost certain death anyway. I think it works out well.

Well I looked into it a little more and found the following mods that change the AI.
Unfortunately both mods change much more than only the AI however that you may not want.

Don´t use that mod it´s crap! It´s a fun killer. You get killed most the time, you companios become very fast dead and you can only play the game in stealth or you get killed every time! And they don´t realy change the AI.

Yeah the AI is retarded as fuck, my fix for this issue has been to do custom tweaks in order to keep the game being hard.
First I have increased every weapon's damage to, at least 325dps , so if I get shot repeatedly I'm dead in a heartbeat.
Second, I edit all the armors I use ( except power armors and heavy stuff, cause they're supossed to be resistant and have a high weight to counter the protection) to mantain a dt between 12 and 22, that way I can't just spam stims ( plus in HC mode they're not all that effective anyway).
Third I use the most hardcore versio of Increased Wasteland Spawns so I have to think more than twice when deciding to engage since going against 35 super mutants or 60 raiders is really a hard to survive situation, specially when you know you're gonna find more in the next corner and limit your ammo.
These changes make the game a freaking incredible challenge, specially if you limit your own equipment ( I only allow myself to carry a rifle of choice, a handgun , a short barrel shotgun, knife and 5 grenades + 5 mines, and that's for when I wanna do some really hard mission) and ammo ( 800 rifle rounds and 500 pistol rounds of my caliber of choice, sounds like much but it's really not a lot when you see the number of enemies you face). I know there are mods out there to do these changes but I really like to set it up as custom as I can without being very messy regarding game scripts and shit.
Hope it helps, it really fixes the problem with the AI in an alternative way, I know it's not perfect but it definately works.
