So I just recently bought GTA V to be able to play it with mods on the PC but I can't seem to add the mods that add either new weapons or vehicles but I can add the trainers but other than that, nothing else works and every time I install the LSPDFR mod it corrupts my files and will not let me start the game at all. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What website did you get the files from? I'm on the fence for GTA V myself, if another site doesn't go lower in price I'll probably grab it from Steam and do mods too.

@"Evmeister" I got the game from steam since it was around 40% off and I was trying to get mods from gta5mods.com but the instructions were kind of vague and youtube didn't really help either

For adding weapons and custom cars you need OpenIV. It's sort of like a mod manager for GTA V. And it's a must for modding as it will allow you to mod the game without modifying the original files so that you can still play online. Although I have to warn you that it is a bit tedious to mod this game but it is worth it. My advice is install one mod at a time so that if your game crashes you can quickly identify the culprit.

Oh, and the mods you download from gta5mods usually come with a readme that has installation instructions. Especially the vehicle mods.

@"loki090" Thanks man, I think I know where I went wrong now. do you know how to get a completely clean game? I think with all the broken modding I tried earlier it broke even when I re downloaded it.

Delete the game through Steam and then reinstall. Before you reinstall make sure all the files are gone. Make sure they're are no files in the My Games folder which is usually in My Documents.

Also what was the mistake? Just curious so I can avoid it when I try

I found the true culprit after a lot of deleting and verifying, it turns out that LSPDFR and Realism Dispatch Enhanced are not compatible with one another and will corrupt your files
