About two months ago, I try to download a mod for New Vegas and it didn't work. I thought it was a problem with nexusmods, but I found out it was a problem on my side since I could download anything connected to any other wifi.

Time has passed and I still can't figure out what's wrong. I've recently downloaded Nexus Download Diagnoser and it's says that it was impossible to connect to remote server (or something like that, mine is in spanish, so I don't really know what are the exact words in english).

I've also tried downloading mods from skyrim and fallout 3 and it doesn't work either.

Can someone help me or at least tell me what's wrong?

I have that same problem, but there is a nice little work around. Just download the mod manually then on the 'mod' tab in NMM there should be a button on the left hand side with a green plus sign that says 'add mod from file'. Click on that, go to your downloads folder and click on the newly downloaded mod. Hope that works for you

That's the problem I can't download any mod from nexus mod manager or manually.
As I said before, I know the problem is related to my wifi, since I could download using my cellphone's internet.

well i would say try to make sure everything is pluged in on your computer and is pluged in good try to restart your computer or do some scaning

if you are haveing some problems with wifi move whatever it is that gets you connection like a modem to a better spot

and if all that fails i dont know what to tell you i download mods manually and add them to the fomm all the time
and for the elder scroll games i use nmm

you might also try to make a new account on the nexus, i hope any of this worked

I have a laptop, so ther isn't anything connected except for the charger, I tried making a new account but it didn't work.

Oh well, I don't think this can be fixed, but thanks for the help anyway.

Try disabling your firewall for a few minutes, or it could be your browser. Go to options, then applications and look for nexus mod manager. Make sure it is direct to the mod manager.

Did you ever figure this out? I suggest what beard said disable your firewall or virus protection TEMPORARILY I kknw the nexus is a trusted site and all but still. Also maybe try using another browser?

I tried disabling my computers firewall, but it didn't work, also tried using Firefox and I had the same problem. I know it's not my anti-virus because I've been using avast way before this happened and my brother doesn't use avast and he has the same problem.

Which browser are you using?

If you're using firefox, like I am, go to the top right corner of the screen. Click on the 3 bar tab, under it there is a teethed wheel, click on it as well. The tab you'll automatically be on is applications (at least it should be). On the left hand side of the window is content type, scroll down till you see nxm. to the right of is action settings. Click on it, and you have a handful options to choose from. By default it should be Nexus mod manager, and the site's avatar right next to it. If it's not, then you'll have to select the NMM and apply the change. =)

So I use chrome, but I opened Firefox and did what you said and didn't find nxm.

That's weird, does anything on right hand side appear to have the nexus symbol?

If not, you might be best to re-download NMM through fire fox.

Well I'll post back if any other ideas come to mind. Chrome should have a similar function.
