Hello I've lately been playing Fallout 3 and I just was playing it with no troubles. I closed the game too find a mod that I want for it. I got the mod and was going to continue playing (it took me like 2 mins to get the mod and I was going straight back to playing the game). When i Launched FOSE (fallout script extender) it said that "You have a unknown version of Fallout 3. Please check if you have the latest FOSE." How do I have a unknown version of Fallout 3 if i just was playing it like 2 mins ago? I uninstalled my FOSE and got the latest version of FOSE just in case (even tho it was the same version i was playing with but still). And it didn't fix anything, thats when i thought it was the mod that i got that screwed everything up (even tho it was just a race mod). I uninstalled the mod but still didn't fix anything. Should i reinstalled Fallout 3? I really dont want too, is anyone else having this problem/have a fix? I want to get back to fallout 3 ASAP. So please any help is really appreciated

did you buy fallout 3 from steam ? if so go to your games library and right click on fallout 3 you should see a window pop up that has the option "properties" in it click that and youll be presented a new window that has 5 tabs choose the one that has the heading "local files" when your in that tab choose the option ""VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE" then wait until the bar hits 100% if that doesnt work ill try help again as soon as im able

Just did that it said 54 files needed to be fixed or what ever lol but still FOSE won't launch.

Have you tried rebooting your computer?  Seems so simple, yet it fixes odd problems quite often.

Also! If you had any mods that replaced vanilla files, most likely texture and mesh replacers, you'll probably need to reinstall them.

id always have problems with fose its why i switched to tale of two wastelands have you got any kinky mods installed? that use to cause my fallout to die sometimes

That did it! Last night i turned off my computer and now its working again i have no clue why that fixed it lol
