I'm John. Was Johnny, when I was a kid. Sometimes Jack. Sometimes J.R.

I'm a novelist. Used to write about/for the vapor industry and community, then the Feds stomped all over that at the urging of regulatory busybodies and nicotine-abstinence-only nanny types.

A very -- I do mean a very -- long time ago (almost 20 years ago), I was known online by the handle of Legion, and was heavily into the Battlefield 1942 modding scene, then on to Battlefield Vietnam, then Battlefield 2. I fine-tuned the singleplayer and coop AI for mods like Forgotten Hope, Eve Of Destruction, and Desert Combat Extended. Along with a small handful of others, I was involved in a modding scene that had (the early installments of) the Battlefield franchise's bots performing almost indistinguishably from human players, including using weapons the vanilla bots never used -- weapons DiCE developers even privately assured us that their bots could not use, such as stationary machine gun emplacements, rocket launchers, and even grenades.

Needless to say, playing with FNVEdit to fine-tune weapon performance is almost nostalgia fuel.

Anyway, there's my introduction type... whatever... thing.
