Hi everyone
I just got the steam version of fallout new vegas, im trying to make an armour mod, but I cant find the meshes folder anywhere, can anyone help?

Did you check the Data folder? It should be in their i don't know why it wouldn't. Do you have any other armor or weapon mods installed? There should definitely be a textures and meshes folder in your data folder.

Just in case you dont know where the Data folder for New Vegas is located. I found this

i say play the game for a bit get a mod or two and the mesh folder should show up

to get their go to computer, os (C:), program files (go to the program files that has a number by it, it should be like (x86) something like that), steam, steamapps, common, fallout new vegas, data then meshes should be in data

and if all else fails then just create the folder

If what GenJohnWilliams said doesn't work your stuff is probably still inside a .BSA file, you can create your folders or extract them from the BSA itself, which I strongly advise against. But for knowledge sake here are them.

BSA containing meshes and textures:

I checked the data folder and theres nothing in there, il install a few mods and see where they show up

I FINALLY found what I needed, like Ol'John said, it was in a .bsa folder, hopefully I don't find too many problems trying to create the mod now.

Glad I could help, mate! Remember you don't need to extract all the files in the .bsa if you don't want to, just create empty folders with the exact names such as mesh/characters/male etc. etc. The game will recognize, no trouble.
