| What do y'all think of Starfield and do you think it'll be good for modding?

I think it has potential to be great , especially since it's a new IP and BGS will be able to focus more on their strengths and make the world from scratch About modding , i think yes it will be moddable but there could be some restrictions , if it's on steam then nothing major will change , but if it's only on the microsoft store , then i feel like it will only be possible through their betheda.net client |

| I find it's probably too early to say at this point, since all we got is a teaser and a release date. Todd put a lot of hype behind it, but that's part of his job, really. I'm going to be realistically optimistic about this. Perhaps a new IP will help Bethesda breathe some new life into the game instead of just bouncing back and forth between Fallout and re-releasing Skyrim. This has the potential to really get their creative juices flowing and start an amazing new sci-fi RPG franchise. But realistically it could also be a flop. I'm gonna reserve my hype until I start seeing gameplay, and even then, I'll still be a bit skeptical, because it seems like so many games nowadays launch near-broken and need three months' worth of patches before they're in a playable state. |

| I'm somewhat ... less hyped than I was before, as it looks like our good old friend Emil Pagliarulo is lead writer again.
Though he does mention in his tweet some existing media that "inspired" his quest ideas for Starfield. |

Though he does mention in his tweet some existing media that "inspired" his quest ideas for Starfield. That's my biggest concern as well , emil may be a nice person whose passionate about his work and he may be good with more fun lighthearted quests (like the dark brotherhood in oblivion) but he isn't a writer to begin with and his idea of K.I.S.S , aka keep it simple , stupid really hurt their previous games , plus his work on main stories from fo3 and onward isn't very good (alsofrom what i heard he wasn't the lead writer of far harbor for fo4 which explains the better and more fleshed out writing for that dlc compared to the base game) i'm honestly hoping he steps back from the lead writer position for starfield and focuses more on other design decisions (or maybe even give him a separate part to wok on like the dark brotherhood in TES 4) But on a more positive note , the fact this is a new IP means that some of his shortcomings as a writer may be less aparent , as there will be no lore to retcon , no previous games with better writing to compare them to , or having to set the game in a world he doesn't really get |

After all, this is Bethesda, all of their products have modding tools. I don’t rule out Emil’s influence on the game, but I don’t think it will be that significant. There are a lot of talented people working on Starfield and I doubt his influence is that great. |

| No idea what to expect though I would be surprised if it doesn't support mods. The question is will Bethesda do something that makes it hard/harder to mod. There will undoubtedly be some quirks and new tools may be required.
Gameplay wise I would assume "Skyrim in space" with a few new mechanics/systems/features not found in Skyrim or Fallout...but...the thing I am worried about most is the amount of procedural content in it (i.e. stuff like radiant quests) because I utterly despise that shit. |

| It's too early for me to say because we have yet to see actual gameplay, but I'm optimistic. A space based RPG from Bethesda has loads of potential, but recent Bethesda games (specifically Fallout 4 and 76) have done some things that could warrant some caution regarding hype or whatever.
Modding is pretty much a staple with Bethesda and since this will most likely be a singleplayer RPG, i have no reason to believe modding won't be a big focus. _________________ |

| I'm really looking forward to play it this week, been keeping up with everything and staying away from the leaks.
Pete hines said a lot of things that i liked doing his interview at gamescom, also looking forward to see what kinds of crazy mods people are going to make, and since moders will be able to make new planets, i'm sure someone will make the deathstar, |

| I'm interested. 15 years ago we were trying to turn Fallout into Mass Effect. You were there, chemmy. Starfield's a much better fit. I'm down for trying to turn Starfield into Star Wars, if anyone else is. Don't have anything else going on, project-wise. |

| I had gathered and bought a lot of star wars and warhammer models' just for the purpose of rigging them in Starfield, so lets just hope that the models will look good ingame and will have a new page for starfield modding on GUN. |

| I'm definitely down for reviving my old sci-fi resources project. Starfield has a lot of the systems and mechanics that I desperately wished the fallout games had back in the day. Bethesda actually made a space opera, which I never thought would happen. Anyone left here know anyone who's working on anything star wars related for this game? |

| i can see the modding community having a hay day with starfield ive already seen one guys going to recreate the old republic in the game which i thinks going to be amazing as the story for it is cool but its visuals and gameplay just weren't there, but with this engine and what modders have already done with say skyrim and fallout i think this is going to be one hell of a game to work with i might even try to start making mods for it. |
