| This topic is for information about the Trading System. This topic is not a trading spot (Click Here for Trading) and create your own topic if you have a list of sales.
The Trade System Introduced through Update 11 Allows players to trade Prime Blueprints, Mods, Platinum, Keys, and Alternate Arcane Helmets at the Clan Dojo's Trading Post.
There are 2 main currencies in Warframe: Credits and Platinum
Credits are earned from finishing missions and selling off gear to the system. With Credits you can buy blueprints to virtually every weapon, Sentinel and Warframe suit (except the Prime ones). A player can purchase weaponry from the market for Credits, although for some weapons, Sentinels and all Warframes, only the schematic is offered to be crafted.
Platinum is bought through real money. One platinum is equal to 6.7 cents or 0.067 dollars. (US Currency) Platinum can be traded (besides the user's starting platinum) with other plays for certain items or traded directly, with credit taxes.
Almost all weaponry and Warframes can be earned in game(everything other than Founder-exclusive items and event, retired, or prime items). However, with platinum, the grind to obtain weapon and Warframe blueprints and their resources is circumvented. There are only a few items that can only be obtained through platinum: Color Palettes, various Cosmetic items, Warframe slots, and Weaponry slots.
Players cannot trade the 50 Platinum (or 75 if the user joined in the beginning of open beta) that he/she received at the beginning. This prevents users from creating multiple accounts and simply trading the platinum to their main account.
Traders need to be at least at Mastery Rank 2 and have trades per day available, so a player that has recently increased their Mastery Rank to 2 will need to wait for the daily refresh of trades.
Up to four items can be traded per transaction and a trade tax of ingame credits is commissioned to both participants in the trade to complete it.
If neither participants have a Clan or access to a Clan Dojo, they may ask somebody who does to invite them, and trade there. In the future they will implement public trade hubs for all players.
Common terminology when discussing trades: B> = Buying WTB = Want to buy S> = Selling WTS = Want to sell T> = Trading WTT = Want to trade LF = Looking for p, plat = platinum giveaway, gift = When someone gives you stuff for free. T1, T2, T3 or T4 = orokin void keys (Tower I, II, III, and IV) obo = or best offer bo = best offer pm = private message me (/w <username>) Max, maxed = A Mod that is fully upgraded. TF = Trading for SK = Selling keys BK = Buying keys PC>(insert item name here) = Price Check Swap = Trading mods for mods ________________________________________

| Personal Note: Trading can be wonderful and it may be hard to digest sometimes.
I started off with 75 platinum because I was in since the first open-beta. I bought a color palette for 40 platinum (because I didn't know jack shit at the time), then I bought some weapon slots with 12 plat and then I traded 4 plat for a special mod that I didn't have at time. Which brought me down to 19 plat in total. Since I don't have any money on the internet (no credit card, no pay pal, nothing), I wouldn't have been able to afford 8 new warframe slots (20 platinum each), about 40 more weapon slots (12 platinum a pair), and a lot of other vanity items like armor attachments and ship decorations. All of that was possible through trading. I think I've gained and spent over 1200 platinum points without paying a single cent. I'm not saying the game isn't worth investing money into, I am saying it's not Pay To Win, and you can well enjoy every part of it for free.
For example: Event mods (dual effect, only obtainable from certain special timed events) are extremely wanted for platinum. I first sold one of my first event mods for 36 platinum, and although I was happy about it, I later understood I could've gotten 80 for it, even 100. It felt like a huge loss, especially since I didn't even know I couldn't get that mod from the game anymore, but only through trade.
Later on I improved my trading efficiency and managed to make a sale of a different event mod for 120 platinum, and another for 180 plat, while I bought them back from other players for 40-50 platinum, so that I can still use my own copies ingame. I sold 3 uncommon unranked Aura Mods (of which I had about 8 copies) for 20 platinum each. My highest priced sale was of a pair of tiger-striped Kubrow imprint for 370p.
If you know how to negotiate, to approximate prices and appreciate people's disposition for spending, you can make more platinum than you need. There are people buying Plat from the Developers by the boatload, and going to player trading and paying as much as 1000 platinum for a single maxed mod, mod which you can max out yourself with no real money cost. Scope out the market. Be open for negotiation. Don't compromise more than you feel comfortable with. Always go for the win-win solution and don't be dishonest.
So let's get to it! |
